You are talking 30 years ago. Over the last 30 years, there has been a few degree's warming.

In other words, you are willing to make trillion dollar socioeconomic decisions based on a mere 0.00000065% of the Earth's history as if what happened over those 30 years is a strict linear projection forward unto all future time without change.

Ever consider that if the climate has changed these past 30 years, there is no reason to think it might not change again, go back worse than before?

Meanwhile, if you look back at history, the Earth's levels and patterns of snow and ice are all over the place, from having mile thick glaciers at the equator, to have palm trees at the south pole.

The problem isn't ice extent, it's ice depth, and that is still thinning.

The two go hand in hand inextricably tied. If you increase depth, you increase extent as well.

Extent is somewhat more prone to atmospheric conditions, depth somewhat more prone to deep sea circulations.

I'm not a fan of Greta's celebrity. I would rather see REAL Scientists get the airtime she is sucking up.

Actualy, no, I'm talking about an average Chicago Winter in the 1970's or 1980s involving a lot of snow

This last year, we barely got a sprinkling of it.

A normal winter, we get 38 inches of snow.

This year, we got 17 inches.
