I prefer "carbon fuel" since that is the common element in all, and while the specific formula you mention isn't very renewable, it is to some degree reproducible, though current technology using close to as much, if not more energy than one gets from the synthetic versions.

I suggest "carbon fuel" because "living" organic matter, like trees and certain crops such as those used for ethanol can also be carbon fuels. This time of the year I burn wood in my wood'stove' to heat my home, rather than electricity, which would cost me more $.

Combustion of carbon fuels is a major source of air pollution, there are others that are natural, but the type of pollution (chemical composition) can be altered by processes done to the flue. Such as Flue Gas Desulfurization -

I'll dispute that "primary cause of climate change" since the climate has changed substantially in the past before humans started to combust carbon fuels, and the contribution of such is a very minor component of current climate change.
