I think people who earned money should keep it.
So do I. After they've paid their fair share for the civilization that allowed them to be rich to start with.
This is the problems with Libertarians.... you guys are all for civilization, you just don't like the heavy lifting- Paying your taxes, serving in the military (too many rules for you guys, to be sure), following sensible laws.
This is one of your most dickish comments though. I don't want to pay for your health insurance. Which is true. But it's not because it's your bill, it's not mine. It's only because I don't want you to get healthcare coverage. The "awful person" is clear, Joe. That's your standard, not mine. You constantly compare what you have to other people. Wealth envy, greed. So you just assume others are like you. You see the world through green colored glasses.
You see, this is where you are confused, buddy. No matter whether or not it's Cigna or Medicare, it's all "Socialist". Either you are paying more in than you are taking out (Which for most of my working adult life, has been the case) or you are taking more out than you paid in that year. (Which is what happened in the two years I got to dance with Cigna.)
The thing is, I paid for health insurance. Every year. Like clockwork. I have not been without insurance since 1996, and frankly, as a last resort, I could probably get treatment at a VA hospital. (Because I did some of that heavy lifting you couldn't be bothered with.) And then Cigna screwed me.
I just happen to think the government can run it better than Cigna can... or at least more justly.
But if you are a fucked up human being, you are totally okay with a CHILD DYING OF A TREATABLE DISEASE BECAUSE SHE IS POOR. That is what makes you a fucked up human being.
