The Congress shall have Power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States.


Now the argument can be made that giving lazy, good for nothing scum that can work but won't work, free housing, free medical care, free food, free cell phones, etc, etc, etc, does not effect the General Welfare of the US as a whole nor contributes to the common defense. The same can be said for the trillions of dollars stolen from the working man to pay for pork projects in almost every state in the union. Bridges to nowhere, tunnels for turtles, saving mice in swamp, airports in the middle of nowhere that serve no one, and on and on and on and on, ad nasuem.

THE USES OF DECEPTION​

The idea of entitlement conveys the sense of ownership. The recipient receives funds that were extracted at gunpoint by the government. Yet the recipients are assured by the government that they are recipients of lawfully earned funds. The real meaning of "earned" in this case is "earned at the ballot box." The defenders of this system have rewritten the commandment: "Thou shalt not steal, except by majority vote."

The implication of an entitlement is that the recipient is owed support by the government. His situation — being without money — is not seen as his fault. It is society's fault. Full employment is a divine right, and the State is regarded as the god of the social order. When the State fails to provide full employment, its agents blame the private sector. It hands out entitlement checks to ease the pain.

The key to the welfare State strategy of extending government safety nets — another phrase for handouts — to the general population is to extract payments and call them insurance. There is unemployment insurance. This is widely accepted. Yet it means going on the dole.

There is old age insurance. Here, we enter the Orwellian world. The Social Security Trust Fund is officially called the Old Age and Survivors Insurance (OASI) Trust Fund. Consider the word magic.

"Social" means State.
"Security" means statistical bankruptcy.
"Trust" means systematic deception.
"Fund" means nonmarketable government IOUs.
"Insurance" means revocable contract."

Social Security is fully paid for by the insured. In fact, it has consistently run in the black, with its surplus plundered by every Administration, Republican and Democratic alike.

The only real reform needed to keep it running in the black is to raise the eligibility age to keep up with life expectancy.

Not only that, but remove the cap on income for SS. Right now any income beyond approx $102k, you don't have to pay anymore taxes into SS. Well, if we make it so that no matter how much people earn in any type of income they have to pay the SS taxes....even if they make $400k....we would not only be able to cover SS for people, but provide a more comfortable lifestyle for retirees. There's no real reason why the SS tax should have an income cap.....the only people who benefit from this are the higher income people who do not really need to rely on SS in retirement in the first place.

Actually, the dems are FAR more responsible for ripping off the middle class in the last 30 years. The middle class get stuck paying for the takers, whom the liberals insist on paying off to buy their votes in every election. Sooner or later that creates far more takers in society than makers....pretty soon the makers are out-numbered (present day included) and we will get taxed to death to support the takers on generational welfare, the drug addicts and alcoholics who refuse to stay in rehab, the gangbangers who sell drugs and make thousands of dollars while collecting welfare benefits, the corporate welfare used to bail out banks and energy companies that the middle class are always bailing out, the unions who bankrupt corporations because they insist on taxpayers paying for cadillac plans and ridiculously high wages for their members, etc..... FAIR taxation is in the constitution, not excessive taxation.....and right now obama wants to excessively tax just about everyone. Retirees who bring in less than $30k/year and the disabled should not have to pay taxes at all....retirees have already paid taxes on their SS income (taxing it again is a form of double taxation!). Everyone else should pay something, even if it's only $500 per year. Tax rates should not go any higher than 25%....for anyone, no matter how much they make. If the govt were only allowed to get a certain percentage of our income....and had to learn to manage on that amount....they would find a way to do it. As it is, they can keep forcing us to pay more and more taxes....most of which are for things that the vast majority of the population never benefit from....so they have no reason to curb their excessive spending. If we limit the govt's ability to tax us excessively, then they are limited in their ability to spend an obscene amount of money and run us into bankruptcy.

Wow....and your "sources" are so completely unbiased! obama has accomplished absolutely nothing that has helped the middle class, or even the black community that has heavily supported him while in office. The man has taken a shit on just about everyone except for his wealthy friends and donors, Wall Street, crazy environmentalists, women who want to abort their babies in late pregnancy, and radical muslim associates. Hell, he even abandoned those Hurricane Sandy victims....you know, the ones he got on tv and preached he would move Heaven and Earth to provide help to, but once the cameras were turned off he went about business as usual while thousands are still left in the cold and many are left homeless and without insurance to cover their losses.
