A good example is the recent news about Hillary's book (deplorables claim it is a failure but it is #1 on Amazon). The news is about trump lurking her during the debate. You claim with this thread she should have just remained silent (surrender). She claims she should have said something (weakness). I say she should had said "If you come any closer I will grab you by the *****". The media would have howled but she would be president today over it.

I didn't claim that. My issue is with the behaviors of those on the ends of the spectrum.

Both sides seem to have convinced themselves that using personal attacks, name-calling, hyperbole, straw man arguments, distortion, deflection and outright lies are somehow going to convince people to think like them. We're now so far over the top with the silly hyperbole that pretty much nothing can be believed. On both ends.

Regarding your specific point - I said something similar, and a Trump supporter did just what you did - I criticized Trump's ridiculous behaviors, and he said something like "oh, so you want him to keep his mouth shut...." - I told that guy the same thing: No, my issue is with the behaviors. They're improving nothing. They're healing nothing.

Where you will next go off the rails, is that you will wrongly try to blame both sides.

There is only one side to blame for this mess, the left. Started in the sixties, simmered below the surface for a bit, raised it's ugly ugly head when Reagan was POTUS, then BUSH, and when Clinton lied to Congress it went ballistic. During the Bush years it grew and grew. The right kept trying to turn the other cheek, make friends, engage in civil debate but the left was too far gone. When 0bama was POTUS, the right had grown up to learn those tricks used them. When Trump beat Hillary, the left has turned the violent hateful rhetoric up to previously unimaginable levels.
