Meanwhile, the issue of protecting democracy and constitutional rights are top issues to voters, alongside costs, as Trump continues an expansive agenda of executive actions on immigration and other key policy areas. And a majority of voters believe he’s done more to undermine the Constitution than defend it.

As I always say, polls are a snap-shot in time and other polls will come out and say something else. But a year out, with a lead this big is very bad for Republicans. American Voters are fed up with Trump and his bs. They blame (justly)
both Trump and the Republican Party for the current government shutdown. No matter how hard he tries, Trump is villain and people know it.

Indeed, if prices are perceived to be still high a year from now, if there are other signs the economy is lagging, it will cost Trump and the GOP.
That's just the way it goes in politics. People have short memories and they go with their gut at the moment. Here's hoping that isn't the case in a year and that inflation is lower (gas prices have already cratered here, groceries are lagging behind) and there isn't any scandal that robs votes from the Republicans.
