Pretty straightforward question here. As our political rhetoric becomes more binary and divided, I wonder how many of us believe that the other side of issues AT LEAST make SOME reasonable, understandable points when they argue their side. At least on the major issues confronting us.
Thoughts?
You mean like "Trump is a mean poopy-head … IMPEACH" or "walls are immoral!!!?"
No.
.
Bloomberg is a flip flopper..............Dem to GOP to Independent to Dem...........Frankly I don't think he cares which party he belongs to as long as it has HIS BEST INTEREST IN MIND............
Not to derail the thread, but you just described our current president to the T.
He lives in your head daily now doesn't he...............LOL
And our country is better for it..............but you will not see it..............Trump 2020.......The Dems are in a hole........and are digging down looking for a way out.......
Ummm.....you get out of the hole upwards........oh well.....have fun digging............
This poll is a fallacy in the making.
We can argue points like medicare for all, green new deal, etc. If we are doing that, then the other side has reasonable points as long as you decide how much SOCIALISM you want in your country, and we should have that conversation.
But when you look on this board and see that Trump screwed the corona virus response because he cut the CDC or whatever, they are arguing points on facts that are FALSE!
You can't even carry on a conversation with many of these people, because they believe the false facts, and they are disproven within 24 to 48 hrs, and yet in their minds, because they want to believe it, they live on forever.
You have people on here who still insist Trump colluded with Russia! How in the hell do you even talk with a straight face to them?
Everyone should notice that when looking at these threads, BOTH sides are berating the other. Nobody wants to talk about policy differences. It is always...…...Trump did this, Pelosi did that, none of that has ANYTHING to do with the reality of our choices on future plans.
In all honesty, if we actually wanted to find solutions, or even common ground to work on, our thread ratio would 2 to 1, or at the very least 3 to 5 on policy ideas. IT AIN'T EVEN CLOSE! Nobody is trying to convince anyone, about anything, besides Trump sucks, or the DNC is evil.
That is how it appears on here, and the media, that BOTH sides intend to win. Not by convincing anyone that their ideas are better, but rather that the other side are reprobates.
If we have any smarts, we would reject that idea, and if we did, we would probably find we could get along a whole lot better!
