Nearly two-thirds (63%) of Americans say they’re either “regularly” (27%) or “occasionally” being fed fake news by traditional major TV and newspaper outlets.

Asked to cite the reason that these media report fake news, 39% say they do it “On purpose in order to push an agenda,” while only 17% say it is “By accident or because of poor fact checking.” Another 32% denied that traditional TV and newspaper media report fake news. …​

One has to remember that ALL news stations, whether you are talking about CNN, FNC MSNBC, et cetera, are owned and the owner has his/her biases and he/she dictates what the reporters who work for him may present or how it is presented.

The theory that private ownership means they are conservative doesn't pass the horse laugh test. Does that mean you are going to admit all public universities are leftwing? All government employees? Of course you won't, even though it's pretty close to being true.

One has to remember that ALL news stations, whether you are talking about CNN, FNC MSNBC, et cetera, are owned and the owner has his/her biases and he/she dictates what the reporters who work for him may present or how it is presented.

The theory that private ownership means they are conservative doesn't pass the horse laugh test. Does that mean you are going to admit all public universities are leftwing? All government employees? Of course you won't, even though it's pretty close to being true.

It has been demonstrated over and over and over that the media is overwhelmingly liberal.

There was a case years ago in which two reporters for Fox News were given a story to report on, when they submitted the story to management, they were told to change it. The reporters resubmitted after changes and were told to continue to change the story. When the reporters refused to change it further, they were fired. The reporters took Fox News to court. The court sided with Fox News in that the court conceded that per the freedom of speech, a news agency wasn't required by any law to tell the truth. The point is, no matter what news agency you hear news from (right wing, left wing), the owner or board decides what stories to show/print and how they are told.
