Actually, I kinda like Politifact.
I use them somewhat regularly when I am a bit curious over some statement or some development. There are other fact-checkers too, it has sorta become a growing cottage-industry, even before Don Trump came on the scene--bigly.
But he turbo-charged it.
After all, just one fact-check outfit, Glenn Kessler's 'Fact-Check' at the Washington Post tallied Don Trump with, if memory serves, 30,000+ 'mis-truths' (they studiously avoid calling them 'lies', as that requires knowing intent.)....so 'falsehoods', mis-truths, un-truths......seems to be glass-slippers that fits Don pretty well.

Sometimes Politifacts is covering what I'm interested in, sometimes not.
But when they do, they add a perspective that I can then fit into my 'whole-holistic' approach to news. Meaning, one needs to look a several sources.

One cannot just watch MSNBC, or OAN......and then think one is well informed. One has got to cross-pollinate with several sources. I've often said to friends that one should only watch the two major cable news outlets with a split screen.....left side, CNN; right side, FOX.

Anyway, for sincere readers here, I would recommend checking out Pulitzer Prize winning "Politifacts"....to add one more piece to the puzzle of understanding things.


ps.....for some other post, I will share my take on two lunches I attended with Politifacts editors. Both were well-educated journalist (Medill & Columbia) and impressively articulate and measured in their comments.
