Love that line. I guess I disagree in that I think he instinctively knows when to introduce a new shiny object to the news cycle in order to get people to forget about yesterday's outrageous act. The country was still gasping over the pardons of violent J6 criminals when the fire hose of policy initiatives were rolled out.

I understand the impulse to assert he is not a strategic political thinker and I agree. Rather, he has the innate ability of a conman to obfuscate, confuse, and distract his marks.

I appreciate the use of the royal "we." But I wonder if it applies since trumples are so completely detached from reality. Are we all Americans? Yes. Do trumples represent anything approximating what have been America's traditional mores, values, beliefs? Do they hold trump to the code of conduct we have always held the prez to? No. Do they hold him to account or ever question his authority or his judgement? No.

In that sense, to me, they aren't any longer part of "we the people." I think of trumples as them. Because they are an essential part of a movement that is taking the country down.
