Drivers seat.
I was asked about mine over dinner this weekend to and my response was not satisfactory at all. I told them I voted for the other guy and that no one in Washington at this time is worth a damn. I also offred the opinion that I feel the Sam about the voting public. Really, you guys have the govrenment you deserve. And no, its not an Obama bash. Bush was just as big a retard as Obama and just as big a failure and just as corrupt. All this shit you all go on about is your fault and will continue to be your fault for as long as you continue to be dazzled by all the shiney objects your dirt bag politicians offer you. So maybe this next time in 2016 how about not taking the political water boys and girls word for it and actually looking into the politition before you punch the ticket for a guy or girl running for office ? Im getting sick of my country being fucked up by you issue voters.

Join the Tea Party to try to make the GOP more responsive or join left wing OWS or CUSA if you want the democrat party to go socialist but get off your ass and stop whining.

While I agree with the OP, we already know enough about Hilary Clinton, the likely democrat nominee, to say that she's very dangerous politician. It's quite nartural to want to give the republican who is running against her your full support, if that means sometimes having to carry water for him/her than so be it. We can't afford to go 4 years of another Clinton after 8 years of Obama.

^ I respect this allot and agree 1,000,000,000%. And when the slaves are told this the butt hurt flows. Bet you are not so popular in political conversations either. So you know, I always vote, even in low turn out elections right down to my city council. And I even try and know what the guys Stan cor when I do it.

Popularity is only a problem if you make it one.

Consider USMB: Note who carries the highest rep. Not all have sexy avatars.

Many are leaders of lemmings.

Sadly yes. And what is even more sad is they will run off the cliff with glee and not even care why. They just know they should.

I completely understand where you are coming from. I do. I'm not highly satisfied with either political party, although I make no secret on where I lean.

But the way you say "You have the government you deserve," you act like you have no part of it. That you are not a fellow citizen. I didn't vote for Obama. I opposed him tooth and nail. I find myself opposing a number of people in both parties. But I am still part of the nation. We have the government we deserve.

I think the one problem I have with what you say, is you act like you have no responsibility in this. Whether for action or inaction we have the government we did. I am not saying you need to blindly follow one party or another. But you need to get actively involved in the process, especially at the local level. That's the area we have the most influence, and if we were as responsible as we should be, we could cut out most of the corrupt and wasteful politicians there before they ever get national prominence.

If you do nothing to fix the problem, you're part of the problem. Just stand up and do something.

good post. I do support a local tea party , and do spend time looking at our candidates. One thing I try to do when ever I talk about politics is get people to LOOK at who they are voting for as well as get them to be appalled by the fact that they feel they need to vote for the lesser of two evils.

That is what the shit politicians tell us EVERY time there is an election. Believe it or not, we actually CAN survive another 4 or 8 years of Clinton after Obama’s terms.

What we ABSOLUTELY CANNOT survive is the continual voting for shit politicians because the ‘other guy is just so bad.’ As long as we do that, nothing changes and the other guy will ALWAYS be that bad. Do you really think that after Clinton there will not be another? That 4 or 8 years of a slower Obama like presidency (because that is exactly what the republicans are offering – slightly less of the same democrat policies) that another Clinton like candidate will not come along?

If that is really what you believe then I want some of what you are smoking ;)

You bring up a good point, but I do think right now in particular we've reached a tipping point in our country, specifically with Obamacare getting ready to be implemented. So yes America has had bad presidents before and lived to see more days, and it is usually patronizing to hear politicians tell us how this next election is the most important election of our lifetimes, but this election carries more weight than usual, just like the last election did.
