Police Departments On High Alert After NYPD Officers Ambushed And Killed

Being a cop in Bed-Stuy is no picnic. They are in constant danger ----making an arrest there is dangerous----pulling down
a drug den is dangerous-------just walking around is dangerous

I'm very concerned for the cops in New York. New York has the finest police officers in the world - in my opinion. They didn't get the name - New York's finest for nothing. When I visited 10 years ago I traveled to the city with my cousin to shop. There were about a dozen officers by the bridge and I asked to take a photo with them! They said sure! It is still one of my favorite memories of my trip up there. They were so friendly and fun to talk to. They loved my southern accent. I told them I may sound Southern but I am still a New Yorker! ha! ha! I have to find that photo! That was a great day and I didn't mind the crowds. Because the city is not the city without the crowds. New York just feels different. The minute you land you know - you're home.

Are you 5?

ya nevah told me Jeri. you lived here.... uhm I mean there--------a friend of mine was your neighbor------she left the
area for florida-----but she encountered john gotti and his-----
INDIVIDUALITY now and then. sheeesh-----I nevah woulda known you are a ----sorta Long Island girl-------???
John Gotti was howard beach----Queens. It's ok ---it is sorta Long Island-----there is water there.-----and people can
dig for clams----or whatevah they dig for. Things not working too well in Long Island lately-----SANDY!!!!!
Sandy was nothing compared to that which is brewing in Brooklyn RIGHT NOW (don't tell anyone-----but I blame
di blasi -----not Obama
COME HOME, ROUDY GIULIANI !!!!!!!!!!!..~~~~ puhleeeze

My family left for Florida too. Small world, Rosie. John Gotti was on Howard Beach - Queens - my beach was a good distance from his - but his yacht traveled in our waters -my beach was nicer - so we were interconnected - sorta - I am sad to say Sandy definitely hit hard where my family's home is located - it's waterfront - so it took a hard hit - water filled the first floor of the house - didn't reach the 2nd floor - but it has since been restored. Brooklyn is a tough neighborhood - I think they will hold their own. I love Roudy Guliani but de blasio is someone they should demand his resignation. I blame de Blasio too. He should bear the brunt of it - I agree, Rosie.

uhm-----well------you probably remember Crown Heights 1991-------here is a prediction-----for several somewhat SIMILAR reasons---there is going to be a similar episode in
Bedford Stuyvesant 2014-15. Bed-Stuy has been heating
up for a few years now. Interestingly enough-----Bed-Stuy
was barely hit by Sandy. Even Hurricanes avoid the area.
A real story>>>>> I once asked a cop----in a confidential
conversation----long ago----->>>
"I walk from the subway down Saratoga
Ave ----a few times per week. There is a murder every week in that area but I never see a cop"

he answered "you WALK down Saratoga Avenue !!??? I would not take a patrol car down that street" sheeeeh----
they were shot right ---uhm ----around there whilst in their cop
car. Do not cry....more news----Coney Island was devastated by Sandy.-------they put in a new CYCLONE. There were rumors that it was about to become a 'casino land'-----
I certainly HOPE NOT. Now there more threats-----Atlantic City is going to be somehow lifted over the Hudson and
transplanted into MANHATTAN <yuck>----which is actually
walking distance from Bed-stuy ---a little trot over the bridge
over troubled waters (east river)

Just a few details I should mention, Rosie. I moved away at age 7. Only trip was to Manhattan where my grandparents owned the corner block and I went shopping with my Grandmother when I stayed there. That was my first time ever seeing an African American person. There were only Jews, Italians and Irish on the beach I lived on. It was private beach and homes pass down to the family members. No outsiders were able to buy property there. It may still be that way. I'll have to ask my mother. As for the trips to Manhattan. Great memories. I used to visit every year. Do not know Saratoga Blvd. but I am sure my cousins know it. I hear Jones Beach took quite a hit too. I did not like their boardwalk. Too many people. Too noisy. Thank God for computers. You can turn them off. It's a great substitute.

Yup---remember that friend I mentioned----actually someone from my workplace----long ago. she did a little party-----
and we had to have passes to "get in" one of us was black---she kinda fixed it up. (sheeesh) Saratoga Ave---goes right thru that which is now called East New York---which is sorta an extension "culturally" of Bed Stuy and part of the bullet in the brain center of the universe. I was working in the local hospital. Not woodhull----where the cops went---THE OTHER ONE. I did not grow up in New York------but whenever my parents needed a beach----it was
JONES BEACH---best memories of my childhood. The Coney Island beach was-----a small part of my childhood----
the crowds were scary ----a really tumultuous place. ---Manhattan was a big part-----There were people in my hometown who NEVER saw Manhattan-----I could not
comprehend such cultural deprivation. ----then again----
I have hardly ever left the tristate area. I grew up in a kinda
restricted little town------in the 50s we were among the families that broke the no jews taboo------no blacks until the 70s -----as far as I know----there are still no blacks in
Howard Beach

You're right. Last time I went to Howard Beach was ten years back to visit a cousin. Very nice neighborhood. She told me the Italians still ruled the neighborhood - it was nearby John Gotti house - not a single black person lived in Howard Beach! Things do not change much in certain parts of New York.

I hear Harlem is no longer "Harlem" - expensive real estate now?

The Clintons live there---in some big old palace. ----Harlem is----not quite harlem------I do not walk around Manhattan much anymore -----there are areas of very posh town house type things-----very expensive real estate. It seems to me----I am not really sure-------for "whores" one need to go to upper manhattan----the west side Greenwich village is no
longer -----either Used to be excellent restaurants----in- expensive----now it is excellent restaurants----expensive.
Used to be a tourist attraction-----I think that is all over too.
The little coffee houses for youth that I visited (as a youth)
do not seem to exist anymore. Manhattan remains congested. If they decide to transplant the casinos of Atlantic City -----disaster

NO.

Do you have issues with gay people? Funny how intolerant you leftys are. You claim that being gay is okay and acceptable but then you try to use it in derogatory terms.

Thanks for proving you are a classless asshole.
