Pocahontas: We Need Big Government! 'Nobody In America Succeeds On Their Own'

I've never heard a Democrat in my lifetime who did not want unlimited government size and power. A small government Democrat would be an exotic animal indeed.

This statement is just as true written like this...A small government Repub would be an exotic animal indeed

At least Republican voters WANT small government. The cornerstone of Democrat ideology reeks of dependence. In this thread, people leap to the defense of helplessness. It can't get much worse than starting out with the premise that people are unable to succeed.

If Republican voters WANTED small government, they would not vote Repub.

Uh huh. Tell that to those squealing for government to nationalize social media.

Lesser of two evils. I'd love a truly conservative party, but there isn't one. I'd rather have a military than a massive welfare state.

So did the Repugs shrink Government when they controlled all 3 branches of government. Not under Trump and not under Bush. Not even close.

If you think that the Repugs want small government. I gotta bridge to sell ya!

The U.S. military is the largest socialist organization in the world.

There is a fiscal conservative party, the Libertarian Party.

LMAO What a lying statement.

Loads of people do quite well without a Big Government.

No one needs Government to succeed.
You drive on the roads? Your car safe to use? Clean water to your kitchen sink? Safe medicines when you get sick? Secure financial institutions to hold your money?

How much h do I need to list?

THIS old song and dance. "Government has taken all of THIS stuff over, therefore none of it would exist without government!"

A vote for Libertarians just helps elect Democrats. I don't want the fast track to Cuba and Venezuela.

Plus, if elected, Libertarians would spend just as badly as Democrats and Republicans. Voters won't support a true conservative, nor would the media. It would be granny off the cliff time.

It's funny, I see this thread as basically the same argument as the threads on breaking up Facebook. But everyone switches sides for some reason.

First, I do NOT agree with her at ALL AND I DESPISE big government...it is the root of trouble - not prosperity. Government should look after those who cannot look after themselves and then leave the rest of us the hell alone (outside of basic stuff like policing laws, military, etc.).
If you are mentally/physically healthy and cannot succeed without government handouts - then you don't deserve to succeed. Period.

Second, Breitbart? And this is from something she said 6-7 years ago. You could not have found another source for this?
You Trumpbots freak if a liberal uses CNN for a source...and you use Breitbart?

Breitbart makes Fox News look like Gandhi in terms of credibility. And you should at least state in the OP that it is from that long ago (though I doubt her position has changed much)....otherwise, it is somewhat misleading.

Just sayin'...

You may not like the source, but doesn't this fall in line with Democrat talking points? It's not like it's a real shock she made such statements.

Well...it's certainly inline with hers and many Democrats - yes.

Though I hesitate to say all of them...I still believe there are some loyal Dems who don't like MASSIVE government. After all, the last President that posted anywhere near a balanced budget was a Dem (Clinton).

Just as I still believe there are loyal Reps who think Trump is a clown.

Actually, I believe that American politics is not as divided as most seem to make it out to be. It's just that the extremists of both parties have risen up lately. But - like most bad things - this too shall pass.

Democrats want a right sized government

Sure they do, like half of the population working for it.

Government workers are Democrat votes. Every Democrat politician knows that.
Right sized government as determined by We the People

It works like this.......candidates run for office and propose new programs to help the people. If the people agree, he is elected
If they oppose, he is not

Right sized government

Interesting

Can you give an example?

Interesting choice

You prefer to help capitalist interests around the globe, rather than help our own people

That is what the duopoly has brainwashed you people into believing. The funny part is that the Dems say a vote for Libertarians just helps elect Repubs.

Can’t distinguish Libertarians from Republicans

It is very easy. Libertarians want smaller government and more personal freedoms.

Republicans want neither of those things

Libertarians do not care who you want to have sex with, what you want to put into your body, or what religion you are.

Republicans want to control all those things.

Libertarians also believe we should never be involved in war unless the enemy is approaching our shores. Libertarians also believe in the decriminalization of all recreational narcotics, including the ones that are now killing over 70,000 Americans a year.
