Somebody gets around a little or there wouldn't be such a huge discrepancy in the coloring.....my guess is somebody grabbed a slave somewhere down the line, which means they have a lot to answer for in about 300 years.

Are they shooting at the plane?????

Their level of contact is minimal, they are not isolated -- but they are still savages

Their huts and level of ritual indicates on going contact and a regional tribal society. Like other remote jungle groups that are still in a near-neolithic state, though, I question if they missed out on some important city-builder genetic updates.

Should they be left alone as part of the fauna in a nature preserve, enslaved as prehensile donkeys, put on government subsidies, or given small pox blankets?

I think I have some blankets left with the family papers and heirlooms if we decide to go with the last option.

When the time is right they will travel and come across the civilized world on their own account, until then I think we should leave them a lone.

Yes, but what if they are practicing a religion which permits old men to have sex with underage girls?

Talk about a case FOR evolution... I wonder what the hell jebus was thinking when he snapped his fingers and created the Amazon rain forest chock full of non-christians!?!

That's almost sure to be a given, since their likely life span is under 40.

Huh? I don't think of men under 40 as being old.
Maybe you are being obtusely sarcastic.

you might if you came from a culture with a life span of 35 years.
