Philly committee to target gun violence has committee for everything but locking up gun criminals...

This is why we have gun crime......the democrats who run these cities hate guns, and normal gun owners and not actual gun criminals. How do we know? They target guns and normal gun owners, then let violent criminals back on the street, the very criminals who are actually using illegal guns to commit rape, robbery and murder....

Notice the missing group on this committee......? The one that wants to sentence violent repeat offenders to jail for 30 years, to allow these communities to be safe from them, and to keep violent criminals out of them...

New Philadelphia committee takes multi-faceted approach to gun violence

Philadelphia officials announced Wednesday the formation of a new committee determined to stem the tide of gun violence in the city, which is at the highest level it’s been in five years. On Wednesday, the city tallied 177 homicides, a 16 percent uptick from last year, prompting the newly-formed Special Committee on Gun Violence Prevention to try to attack the problem from multiple angles.

The committee will be focused on taking a cross-sector approach in trying to slow the city’s gun violence problem. That multi-pronged approach will be represented in the following six subcommittees: Illegal Guns, Public Health/Trauma Informed, Social Services/Opportunity, Intervention/Outreach, Program Review Team, and Victim Advocates.

The six subcommittees hope to address the many different factors that contribute to and aggravate the gun violence problem.

IN chicago, there are about 1,500 people known to the police who will actually use illegal guns to shoot people....they will have been arrested multiple times for possession of illegal guns, and for other violent offenses, they will serve less than 2 years, and then go back to their gangs and murder people......

So Philly is going to go after normal gun owners, and think that that will help stop gun crime....

My Mom told me Indianapolis has some group that is addressing gun violence, murders, etc. Everyone is raving about them and what they do....meanwhile Indy is on pace to shatter the last two years of homicides.

its not the guns, its the criminals. And for the record Im against an extra penalty being added for committing a crime with a gun, as versus a knife, chainsaw, etc.
the purpose of this is to lump in people who simply own guns in with people who commit crimes with guns.
also, the definition of "gun criminal" needs to be narrowed the hell down.
the only way that should apply is to those who use a gun as a tool to victimize others. NOT someone who refuses to jump through hoops and get a government permission slip to exercise his god given right, NOT someone who who violates the 51% rule by keeping his .38 in his ankle holster when he goes to the honky tonk to have a coors or 3. NOT EVEN someone with a bad past that keeps a gun, but is no longer involved in crime.
