An interesting story on Nixon , Russia and the Soda wars. Pepsi ends up owning Russian submarines in its quest to beat Coca Cola. International Politics and a Cold Pepsi it needs to be a movie.

It was actually more than that. They acquired a total of 85 ships. Including a cruiser, a frigate, a destroyer, and 2 oil tankers in addition to 17 submarines and 10 other ships.

If the "Cola Wars" had ever gone hot, on paper at least Pepsi had one of the largest navies in the world.

And after the Soviet Union broke up, another somewhat similar deal had them exchanging cheese and two new oil tankers which they in turn sold to companies that could use them.
