Saying, we only "know" any of that because the SFPD says so, doesn't answer them since it's not the SFPD telling us... it's video showing us Depape did the things of which he later confessed.

The less than a minute video at the door shows a DePape and P. Pelosi apparently having a domestic disturbance. Why are they hiding the rest of the video? Why do we only get to see one cop's bodycam video?

The clothing of the man in the video of a guy hitting a door with a hammer does not match the clothing worn by DePape in the doorway video.

His own attorney told the court, DePape was intent on targeting Nancy Pelosi, not Paul Pelosi, and he intended to break the Speaker’s kneecaps — not kill her, which corroborates Depape's confession.

If Depape made the confession under durress, that confession would have been passed on to his attorney. This story smacks of a guy being made the scapegoat under threats.

The DePape is a crazy Trumper story makes far less sense than the tryst gone wrong theory. Nothing in DePape's background suggests he would suddenly turn Trumper. The tryst gone wrong story is supported by the only video and audio in which DePape is identifiable.

But, again: We will know if he made a deal by the way he is treated. If his is allowed to be deported or get a light sentence instead of the serious prison time an attempted murder in the commission of a breaking and entering with intent to kidnap would warrant, we'll know what's up.

I can accept it. As soon as there is reliable evidence of it. Until then, I have to believe what I can see with my own eyes: a domestic disturbance in which the couple escalate the violence when police arrive. That is actually very common, because drunken people in domestic altercations are some of the craziest people that police have to deal with.
