Pelosi not invited to Stimulus Bill signing

That’s the Class Act President we have... our government is being run by a bunch of emotional children. WTF is going on?!

So the waste of space, that had nothing to do with a relief bill, isn't inviting the only leader in Washington that decided what was going to be in it?

That's rich.

Sorry, the Senate decided what was going to be in it as well. The witch tried to stuff it full of pork, and the Senate told her to take it out.
My understanding is that virtually nothing she wanted got into the final bill.

I'm sure they had to give her something, just nothing near the laundry list she first presented.

Which witch tried to stuff it full of pork? McConnell? Because there was plenty of from both sides in it but you lunatics are incapable of recognizing your own. Harbor dredging? Sunscreen?

A lot of important stuff got in.
  • Vastly expanded unemployment benefits through June for anyone who’s lost income due to COVID-19.
  • $100 billion for hospitals.
  • A change in the “checks for everyone” program to insure that low-income workers get the full $1,200.
  • Removal of a provision that would have excluded nonprofits that receive Medicaid funding from the small-business grants.
  • Barring the president, Vice President, cabinet heads and members of Congress and their families from getting aid.
  • Oversight on the corporate lending facility.
  • $150 billion for state and local governments.
  • $25 billion for food stamps.
  • $30 billion for schools.
  • Suspend federal student loan payments through Sept. 30 with no accrual of interest on those loans.
So where's the Republican pork?

That’s the Class Act President we have... our government is being run by a bunch of emotional children. WTF is going on?!

Oh please, she has earned what she gets. Pelosi is a vicious, nasty person.
She's awesome! Trump is the most bigly vicious, nasty person.... no one in the existing world, is more vicious and nastier or more vindictive and vengeful than him, 24/7, 365 days a year....imo....

sure, she was wrong in showing her emotions and ripping his lying speech, but being wrong once in a while, makes her human....

being wrong and a dick ALL of the time, makes him, pure evil....! again, in my opinion... :p
Again, prod the bull, and get the horns. Just shows how bad the Democrats have been to him.

No worse than the Republicans were to Obama. The difference in their responses is class.
This to me is just being overly defensive to your side.

No repub ever:
Acted up behind obama
Ripped up his speech
Had pens made to celebrate an attack on him

And the list goes on. Not defending Trump but calling the D actions "class"?

Please explain.
Oops realized we may have misunderstood each other, no, those actions are a lack of class. When I referred to class, it was how Obama handled intense and personal attacks and how Trump does.
Obama was not attacked on a daily basis by a hostile press and unhinged opposition politicians.,

How quickly they forget....

In the weeks following the election, the debate over the issue of media bias, and of whether the press was overly kind to Barack Obama, has continued to swirl. Much less attention has been paid to another, more troubling aspect of the coverage, and that’s the relentless and malevolent campaign that the right-wing media waged against the Democratic candidate. Few people who did not regularly tune in to the vast, churning combine of bellowing radio hosts, yapping bloggers, obnoxious Web sites, malicious columnists, and the slashingly partisan Fox News have any idea of just how vile and venomous were the attacks leveled at Obama. Day after day, week after week, these outlets worked determinedly to discredit and degrade Obama, accusing him of being a Muslim, a Marxist, a radical, a revolutionary, a socialist, a communist, a thug, a mobster, a racist, an agent of voter fraud, a black-power advocate, a madrasah graduate, an anti-Semite, an enemy of Israel, an associate of terrorists—even the Antichrist. Supplemented by a flood of viral e-mails, slanderous robocalls, and Internet-based smear campaigns, these media outlets worked to stoke firestorms of manufactured rage against Obama and the Democrats in what was perhaps the most concerted campaign of vilification ever directed at an American politician.

Now let's look at that:

The left has all of the other news channels outside of Fox.
The left has all of Hollywood.
The left orchestrates grade schools.
The left almost completely controls colleges.
The left almost completely owns television entertainment.
The left far outnumbers internet news sites over right leaning sites.
The left has a virtual monopoly of the most popular social media.

But you're going to complain that YOU are outnumbered somehow because we have one cable news channel and AM radio?
You have to laugh whenever those morons start crying about the "right wing media." That's like crying about the noise a kid with a toy drum is making on the same field with a 100 man college marching band.

Of course. It's ridiculous already. They have such an indoctrination process it's amazing anybody else knows the truth. That's why they still come on here stating Bush stole the election against Gore. It's why they keep repeating that Trump proclaimed himself as a white nationalist. It's why they keep repeating that Trump said all Mexicans were rapists and murderers. Now it's Trump said the virus was hoax!!!!

My Lord, could you imagine the power we conservatives would have if we had every other outlet on our side outside one crummy cable news network and AM radio?
One crummy news network?! You mean the largest news network in the world? Haha. Ok Ray. Great point
They forget that minor detail. We have a new special persecuted group of snowflakes now.
Like bitching someone didn't shake a hand?
Or saying wah Trump doesn't act presidential?

Shit, Slade is a rare breed of snowflake. He will invent reasons to bitch at ONLY Trump regardless of others doing the same or worse.

You got that backwards. McConnell tried to push one through in a hurry full of corporate pork, and Pelosi shut that shit down. Not only did she shut it down, she got everything she wanted in the revised one, made McConnell an offer he couldn't refuse, punked Trump, and got her version passed 96-0 in the Senate.

Revisionist history much?
That's a total fucking lie.

No Democrat refused to shake the speakers hand.

No Democrat referred to their colleagues publically with insulting nick names.

No Democrat met with their colleagues during the inauguration and swore to make the newly elected president a one term president by any means possible.

No Republican has had his citizenship and religion and eligibility for office questioned, with a complete lack of evidence, including by the current president.

Republicans rudely walked out of Obama’s last state of the union address, before it was finished.

I hear over and over how Democrats refused to accept the consequences of the election, but what do you call birtherism, but a refusal to accept the consequences of an election?

So no, I don’t think Trump has it worse than Obama. I am however sorely disappointed that Trump has brought the level of conduct, discourse and lack of class to a new low which Republicans and now Democrats are emulating.

Obama helped bring the level down and Trump has continued down the same road at a faster pace. I believe the attacks on Trump are at the same level as Obama.

Trump and Pelosi are both lacking class and both hate having their power challenged.

They both can go as far as I’m concerned, they have done more to divide a nation than any other two people in over 100 years.

Why on earth? Easy, because he is the president and she is the head of a major political party and speaker of the house. That’s why. You grow the fuck up and act like a leader. The old “she did it first so I can do it now” Line expired in grade school. You obviously didn’t get the memo

She's also the leader of the major political party which has been spewing lies about him for years, which has wasted untold millions of taxpayer dollars investigating things which never happened, and which tried to remove him from office over a fucking phone call.

He IS acting like a leader. Those who elected him (and I'm guessing you're not one of them) are finally happy to have a leader who doesn't take any bullshit and who couldn't be pretentious if he tried. You fuck with him, he'll fuck with you. That's how real life works. Pelosi now has a better understanding of what she can expect with the time she has left as SOTH while Trump is President.

You reap what you sow, and Pelosi has all but guaranteed that she'll be on the outside of all the good things that happen from here on out. She deserves to be left out in the cold.

Her political capital has been spent...
This is were we disagree. He is the president of the United States. Not the president of the Republicans or the president of just those who elected him. The “you fuck with him he’ll fuck with you” argument is exactly why he acts like a child and not a leader.

Funny, I don't remember any topic that you started when Piglosi, ShoeMaker or Schiff Face insulted or snubbed the President, and you constantly tell us you're a moderate and not a leftist or TDS victim.
I said plenty about Pelosi ripping up that speech... and even if I didn’t and I was a total hypocrite that wouldn’t matter in the least unless you want to use somebody else’s hypocrisy to justify your own. Is that what you’re doing?

What I'm doing is calling you out for being a fraud. You are either a Democrat/ leftist, or a person with TDS. Either way, you are not impartial which is why you started this topic and never started one against Piglosi or the other commies.
So what? Who cares what I think? It makes zero difference to the discussion. Either you think my statements are right or wrong and they can be discussed at face value. My personal feelings or my history of who I support and don’t support have nothing to do with it. That’s a diversion tactic

Well that's why we come here: to relay how we all think. If Trump is everything bad in your mind, at least be honest about it. If you hate Republicans no matter what they do, then don't tell everybody you're a centrist who has no side.

I'm a conservative Republican. I'm proud of it, I make no bones about it. Even without that proclamation, it's clear in what I write. Does that mean I will stick up for the Republican party and representatives no matter what? Of course not. But I will stick up for them when people like you attack them, and try to act like your side is totally innocent.
I don’t think anybody is “everything bad”. I used to be a trump fan and was thoroughly entertained by him... I just think he is a shitty president who makes me feel embarrassed to be an American with the way he represents us. I would love to vote republican. I am an entrepreneur who likes the idea of low taxes and small gov over big gov. I’d love it if the Republican Party and it’s leaders would do a decent job in representing those values while still displaying strong moral character for human rights. Unfortunately both political parties are corrupt and doing a garbage job. so that’s how I “feel” but again... to try and dismiss Trumps actions because the person critiquing the actions may be a hypocrite... well that’s just a weak diversionary argument IMO

So you're just the standard TDSr. Gotcha.

In the old black and white movie days, they would display politicians kissing babies. They hated it, but did it to get votes by showing wives they loved babies. Back in the day, the father had very little interaction with babies. That was a woman's job.

So I developed the term Baby Kissing Politicians. In other words, phonies. You don't care about how good a job this President is doing, because you like baby kissing politicians, and are less concerned about success.

I'm just the opposite. Even though I like Trump on a personal basis, I love the job he's doing. I don't care about the aesthetics of it all, I only care that he's doing what I elected him to do, and I didn't elect him to put on an show for me. If I want somebody to put on an act for me, I'll turn on a sitcom and watch it.

But even if I hated Trump personally, I could ignore that providing he's doing what he can to benefit this country. He's not really getting paid for it, and I respect that. Even before the virus, he lost over a billion dollars of wealth. How can you not respect that?

As long as you people vote for actors instead of patriots, our country is in real trouble.
I voted for a patriot.

So, you voted third party as well?

Pelosi is a representative for a district in San Francisco where people drop syringes on the sidewalk and crap in the street and in front of businesses. She is not a Nationally elected official. She is a power grabber and needs to be knocked off her throne and forced out of power. She's illegitimate.

So you vote Democrat because you support small government and low taxes?

Who are you trying to kid?
I’ve never voted democrat. But I will next election. A steaming turd would be better than what we currently have
You never voted Democrat? Yeah, right. Are you saying you voted Commie? That would be redundant, however.

She did? You mean she got same day voter registration? She got new cafe standards for jet planes? She got the tax credits for solar and wind energy? She got a $10,000 per student debt reduction for college loans? She got a new federal $15.00 minimum wage?

Who are you trying to kid? She barely got shit. If you don't believe me, talk to your cohorts on USMB who have been crying since the bill was passed that it's loaded with corporate bailouts.
It’s almost as if she never really demanded those things...

  • $150 billion for state and local governments.
  • $25 billion for food stamps.
  • $30 billion for schools.
  • Suspend federal student loan payments through Sept. 30 with no accrual of interest on those loans.

Why is any more money needed at all for schools? They aren't getting big utility bills because no one is there, they are saving a bundle.

Unemployment compensation is a 6 month program, its a little bit early to extend it, no? Or do the libs see a long term depression here, with an indefinite period of double digit unemployment.

Why suspend student loan payments without interest? Don't the taxpayers deserve a return on the funds they loaned these students?

1. Schools will be struggling. Utility costs are not the only costs. There is the fact that it's looking like most schools will not be back in session physically this term. Everything has to be somehow done remotely, and in many areas, not all students have adequate access or a laptop. Libraries are closed.

2. It's not just libs who see a possible recession around the corner - actually we are in a recession and it's worldwide. Getting it through now is a wiser move imo, then fighting to get it later.

3. What DO the taxpayers deserve? Should they be paying for airline bailouts? Should they be paying to help small business? Should they be paying to help prevent evictions and foreclosures? Student loans are typically huge, and still must be paid even if unemployed. This is not a loan forgiveness, it's giving them a break just like we are other sectors.

Why do we need to pay for harbor dredging?

Why is sunscreen in there?

That's quite simple. The longer unemployment benefits go, the less desire people will have to return to work. We both know they are hoping this destroys the economy and stays that way until the next election.

And we both know that is bullshit. What happens to the economy effects ALL of us. EVERY SINGLE PERSON. Trumpists are morons if they thing that people want the economy to fail. Were you hoping for the economy to crash again under Obama?

I'm not talking about a "little bit of a recession" but instead a major depression with several years of double digit unemployment which is what the libs are ready for. Well, Trump isn't, and I sure the hell ain't either. I'd like to see this matter resolved and America come roaring back this summer.

Sure, utilities aren't the only cost that can be saved on right now in the schools. The salaries of teachers, custodians and school cafeteria ladies, fuel for school buses, books, pencils, chalk, etc.

These are not Republican agendas, they are US agendas. They are all related to the damage of COVID-19.

Those were what the Democrats were fighting to get in to the bill. Not the Republicans. What you criticized Pelosi for.

Some of what went in to the bill was part of the Republican Agenda, for instance language prohibiting Planned Parenthood from getting any money.

Unfortunately, I saw the joy in the eyes of liberal TV talking heads reporting declines in the stock market and increases in unemployment claims. You can't fool the public on this.

I’ve never voted democrat. But I will next election. A steaming turd would be better than what we currently have

Would you concern yourself with the background/history of the Democrat, or would you vote for him just because he's not Trump?
Would you? Or would you vote for Trump regardless?

That's not how this works.

I asked you a question. If you expect me to answer yours, you should answer mine first.

If you're too scared to answer mine, that's perfectly fine. Just have the balls to admit it...

Unfortunately, I saw the joy in the eyes of liberal TV talking heads reporting declines in the stock market and increases in unemployment claims. You can't fool the public on this.

You need glasses....or to check your bias.

PP has nothing to do with this virus.

Democrats would gladly sacrifice the economy if it helps defeat Trump. That's no secret.

If you expect me to answer your, you should answer mine first.

If you're too scared to answer mine, that's perfectly fine. Just have the balls to admit it...

Sure. I can answer it.

I would concern myself with the background and positions of the candidate. In fact that is one reason I voted for Obama. I vote for someone who's positions most closely match mine, and who's integrity and character is at least not totally off the board.

And that brings us to Trump. Zero policy positions in common. And a horrible character and background. None of the Dems running in the primaries come close to that bad in terms of character. The main issue I had with many is - too far to the left. But, it might help to rebalance things. Any of them would have my vote over Trump. In fact there are other Republicans who I would have loved to see run that I could have voted for (Colin Powell).

Now your turn. Or will you run away?

PP has nothing to do with this virus.

So why was it inserted into the bill?
