Got a question for ANYONE here. If you cant diagnose pedo in folks who havent acted on urges or gathered up kiddy porn, what good is ANY of this discussion? Do we know what percent of these latent pedosnever commit a crime? No. Can we find out how many there are? No.

Why do these people need special attention? Because EVERY REAL pedo graduates from this IMAGINARY class. And the only reason for that op ed is to pretend that there are are GOOD pedos and BAD pedos. And to INFER that the vast majority is harmless. Where are the numbers to support that fantasy?

They are saying that Pedo's can't ask for psychological medical help because they automatically get labelled a predator and ostracized and lose their jobs if they do. So they have to remain untreated and in hiding, and thus a more likely, threat than they would be if they were out in the open getting treatment.

HIPAA says they can if its actually a medical condition. However thats were the line blurs. Is it a medical condition due to genetics or is it externally influenced or a combination of both.

Another question is. Is a person a pedophile for merely having thoughts? Or do we only classify them as such if they posses child porn , or expose themselves, or whatever?

Because a person who just sits at home whacking their meat as they dream of children is sick, but they aren't hurting or exploiting anyone. In thcoat sense, they are no more guilty of a crime than the person who sits at home dreaming of committing any other crime. Having revolting thoughts in and of itself is not a crime.

As for your reference to Sandusky, yes you're right, which signals that some pedophiles don't focus exclusively on children. If these guys can be target early perhaps they can be trained to direct their impulses towards having sex with a grown woman.
