79 years ago, the Empire of Japan pulled a Pearl Harbor job on America, by bombing Hawaii on Sunday morning. Coincidentally, the focus of the attack on Hawaii was in a body of water that was called "Pearl Harbor".

It takes America back to a time when they were actually fighting against National Socialism and not voting for it.

Yet, the policies pushed by Democrats and FDR are still hated today by conservatives and still demonized...

And lots of those conservatives didn't even want to get involved in WW2

So what exactly were conservatives fighting for??

1. Japan was, indeed, "dastardly" in attacking without a warning. (I think FDR used that adjective.)

2. It resulted in thousands of American deaths at Pearl Harbor. (Just heard that the vets who were there are too old during this pandemic to attend any ceremonies.)

3. It resulted in 100,000 law-abiding and productive Japanese people here in California being shipped off to relocation camps.

a. If war with China ever occurs, hopefully the American government will NOT lock up all the Chinese people in the United States.

a. Although I voted twice for President Trump, he WAS wrong to call it the "Chinese virus," thus playing on the prejudice of ignorant people.

I don't know about that, WW2 was pretty deadly, and it occurred on the Liberals' watch.

In 1937, FDR cut the military budget to pay for his Raw Deal. Gen. MacArthur warned him what would happen and it did.

If the US had a properly funded military, Hitler would have never thought to piss us off with the Holocaust and Hirohito would have never pulled a Pearl Harbor job on us.

Indeed.

World War 2 was merely a continuation of World War 1, which was a war President Wilson, the worst President in US history, erroneously got the US involved by claiming that the Lusitania was sunk by German U boats with US civilians on board but was not a military target. Dives later verified that the boat was armed to the teeth to arm the UK and was a valid military target. But the damage through such Progressive lies accomlished the mission of mobilizing the country to get involved in a European war. The later Truce with the vanquished German powers was so bad it fueled hate and division and the rise of Nazi Germany, which was only a more virulent collectivist regime hell bent on vengence. But such lies and fueling hate and division is what Progressivism is all about. In fact, we are seeing the same seeds sown in the US today by the Progressive movement.

Really for me, the issue is collectivism. That is, collectivist regimes that centralize power and through such power build world conquering armies. For Presidents like Wilson and FDR, the answer was to become exactly like what you are fighting. To me though, that is not the proper answer. It is a conundrum, however, that one has to find a way to survive such collectivist regimes like there were in Europe that build such world conquering armies without becoming that yourself, yet surviving. Countries like Switzerland have figured it out though. They have no standing army and arm and train all their citizens to use automatic weapons. The surrounding mountain range make it virtually impossible to infiltrate the region unless they take the long dug out tunnels that they will simply blow up and destroy. But the added security is, they are the world's bank. All the corrupt collectiist regimes keep their money there, so they are essentially bullett proof.

All foreign wars occurred on the DNC watch, except Desert Storm which Progressives like W said was not really war.

Interestingly, the Japanese code had been broken years before the attack on Pearl Harbor. So why did they not intercept those codes and defend appropriately? In fact, only 6 months later we are told that the US delivered a decisive victory at Midway because the Japanese was used to deliver the victory, so why not at Pearl?

This question should haunt every person who has sold his soul to the Progressive movement that FDR championed, and for which is a forefather. As for his racism against Japanese Americans, that is ignored entirely as Trump is simultaneously proclaimed as the most racist President in US history even though he has NEVER approached violating the constitutional rights and freedom of people based on simply someone's race like FDR did. And to this day, if you hear Progressive academics rate US Presidents, FDR is always at the top and Trump at the bottom.

Very telling.

For me, FDR was a tampon and this Progressive sheep that came later was the nation's discharge as they sow more racial divide

....you prove to know nothing about history and you are a HATER of America
WW2 had the greatest MURDER/killing/etc
also, which you obviously don't know, it caused:
the greatest displacement of people
homeless
greatest destruction
robbery
INJURIES [ broken, lost limbs ] etc
etc etc
MUCH MUCH more than the flu---no comparison whatsoever

..it's not that simple ...wars/combat/etc is not like making a sandwich
....same reason there are ANY ''ambushes''/surprise attacks/etc
..they did not think and did not know they were going to attack PH
etc etc

Where did the virus originate? Wuhan... And where is that? China, hence the China Virus, nobody made a stink about the Hong Kong Flu...So get off your high horse and realize that most of the time viruses are named after their place of origin

FDR allowed Pearl Harbor to happen to get the US into WW2. Prior to the attack the US population did not want to have anything to do with the war in Europe.

You are, I am sure, an intelligent person.

You know there are many ignorant people (of ALL ethnicities, by the way) who are just looking for an excuse to verbally/physically abuse Asian Americans (many of whom have never been to China and are disgusted by the tyrants in Beijing).

So President Trump was wrong to call it the "China virus." He should have used the term "COVID-19" as most people do.

Happy New Year

FDR visited Pearl Harbor early in his presidency

his Secretary Of State was "negotiating" with Japanese diplomats on the day of the Pearl Harbor attack

i wonder if FDR was in on it, my friends!

Well the US had decoded Japanese messages weeks before so we knew the attack was coming that is one of the reasons no carriers were in port then. FDR want in the war while the people wanted no part of it

I agree, Impeach the bastard, 3 worst President in the History of the USA

FDR was a skilled orator who could make a restaurant menu sound profound and a pretty accomplished actor. He could have gained the podium without fanfair but he deliberately made a dramatic entrance struggling with braces on his legs to the platform to give the "day of infamy speech". The media loved him and nobody dared to question the faulty military and political strategy that led to the disaster. MacArthur had about a day to prepare for the inevitable attack but apparently he was paralyzed with indecision and failed to initiate the "war plan" while his vital Philippine air force was destroyed parked wing to wing on the ground. The media loved MacArthur too.

No, Japan did not bomb Pearl Harbor. It was never identified who bombed Pearl Harbor.

The media and government propaganda ruled then as well as today that it was the Japanese. So Japan is only a belief.

Logically, it made no sense for Japan to bomb Pearl Harbor because at that time they were not yet ready to attack the US, they needed to build infrastructure first to better exploit China before they do.

So, logically, it was the USA that bombed Pearl Harbor, to tactically short down Japanese infrastructure in Asia. The attack planes were unmarked, and the range between Pearl Harbor and the nearest Japanese base was out of reach.
