Sounds like the citizens of that State reaping the benefits of that State to me.
Way to go Palin.
Yes. Socialism. You should REALLY pay better attention to the talking points you are given.

What's your governor done???????????????????
Not quit.
Yank, I did look it up and I think you are right. This is Socialism, albeit a strange brand. This benefits of this brand of Socialism only fall to the citizens of Alaska , and no one else.
Would I like this kiind of Socialism in my State. You betcha. We have a ton of oil off shore and I for one would love to reap the benefits. Too bad our Gov ain't as savvy at Palin.

Yank I do like Palin and I think she would do all she could for the citizens of her State. From what I've read about her she's done just that.
Antagon. Don't know if you could really call this Capitalism. In a way I can see it because it is profits from the Oil companies but the Oil is Alaskas natural rescource and only Alaskans share in the wealth. Kinda funny thing to figure. I can see both side of this though.
Dr. Traveler. I live in Florida.

What state are you in?
In TX, average citizens reap the benefits of the oil industry, but its more subtle than Alaska's blatant check in the mail approach.

Anyone who isnt up on C/p never will be they are voters who will vote for who they are told will win thats 50% of voters. You libs nervous yet? you should be. LOL
Sister, a test of "You libs nervous yet" will be the vote on he healthcare bill. Clearly most folks are opposed, and opposition increases with knowledge of what is in the bill.
But the Dem mantra seems to be "we will suffer more at the polls if we don't pass a bill."
President Clinton is saying that that is the reason for loses after his healthcare bill failed.
This bill, which will be a disaster for the economic future of the country, will be an early test.
Time to brush up on the "The Cloward/Piven Strategy:"
"Using borrowed money for a band-aid bailout of the economy should seem backwards to most people. However, it likely is a planned strategy to promote radical change. Those naively believing that President Obama is simply rewarding his far-left base, and will then move to the political center, must wise up."
American Thinker: The Cloward/Piven Strategy of Economic Recovery
There have been movements to share the wealth of the country they don't go very far. Thanks for your explanation antagon. Makes sense.
I am a capitalist down to my toenails but I can see why Alaskas sharing the wealth with its citizens could be called a form of Socialism.
Jeeze, wouldn't mind this form of Socialism in my State at all.
I don't think Palin should or will run in 2012. She isn't seasoned enough and she won't win. She'll hand Barry another four years.
Isn't seasoned enough??? And Obama is???His resume- NO EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE.
Spent some time being a community organizor, some time in the state legislature and all of 150 days as a U.S senator. Now POTHUS.LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Your analogy would be more valid if Palin had run against Obama in 2008. By 2012, Obama WILL have had 4 years of executive experience. In the 2008 election, neither he nor McCain had any executive experience. The dynamics of the race next time will be different.
The Republicans will need a strong a candidate in 2012. They can win it, but the power of the incumbency is great. If the GOP has a weak candidate - and Palin would be a weak candidate - it is far less likely they would win.
Pawlenty/Palin ticket would result in a landslide win for 2012.

Which makes running Alaska as governor the easiest governor's job in the U.S. 80% of your budget is prepaid by guys who dig holes in your land.
It's the kind of executive experience that qualifies you to be president...
...of Saudi Arabia.

A little history lesson for the historically challenged liberals on this board, they apparently don't have the attention span to read longer than 3 minutes so this will be a very quick summary.
Governor Palin Accomplishments.
1. Fought corruption in her own party, the (CBC) corrupt bastards club, many are still in jail.
2. Took on big oil and won. Implemented a program called "ACES" which caused Exon and all the other huge oil companies to share the profits with Alaskans.
3. Cut 85% pork out of federal funding.
a. She sold the previous governor's jet because it was extravagant.
b. She dismissed the governor's cook, she cooks.
c. She gave back the state vehicle to the state and used her own.
d. She dismissed her-state-provided security force.
4. Started a NATURAL GAS pipeline that will be the biggest construction project in the history of North America.
5. Forced Exxon to start work on a lease they held for the last 30 years by threatening to revoke that lease. Previous governors had tried but they never got Exxon to budge.
6. Alaska is already at 25% RENEWABLE ENERGY, Palin went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% RENEWABLE ENERGY by 2025. Obama wants the lower 48 to be at 25% by 2025, it seems we have some catching up to do.
Her time as mayer in Wasilla.
1. Cut taxes, property taxes, license fees.etc.
2. Paved roads, the airport, put in sewer and water lines for expansion.
3. Again cut the budget.
4. Created a thriving town which attracted new business's and people and made Wasilla the envy of the state of Alaska.
BtW, I went to a Palin book signing tonight, unfortunately I had to work and was not able to be there early enough to pick up a ticket. There were 1,000 tickets issued, people tried to spend the nights in their car but were ushered off the lot. If you wanted a ticket you needed to be there by 5:00am in order to stand outside this mall in -4 degree weather with a wind chill factor of -20. She did not arrive until 5:30pm about the same time I got there and I estimated the crowd to be between 1,500 to 2,000. Michelle Malcolm was there with her too. It was a great time being in the company of people who are full of life and feel as I do that this country changes it's direction or goes bankrupt.
When I had seen some of these book signings on television it appeared that mostly women were showing up for them. Not the case here, it was a good representation of men, women and young adults. They were about equal in number. I did get to talk to a some of the people who had their book signed by her and got to see her signature, her whole family was with her and one of her aunts had signed this guy's book along side Palin's signature. The gentleman was very excited about the signatures.
The one thing you pick up on when you talk to anyone who has ever met her face to face is that she is REAL. No aires, or put on's. She is who she is and that's what people find so attractive about her. Not like a stuffy, arrogant, elitist politician
They have the same philosophy about debt, smaller more efficient government. This is a ticket that I would definitely support and IMO millions of others would too. You would have the men vote for Pawlenty and the women vote for Palin. This is the team that I could get behind. IMHO it would result in a landslide win for conservatives.
GOVERNOR PAWLENTY SAYS STATE GOVERNMENT WILL LIVE WITHIN ITS MEANS -- December 2, 2009
And the real boost, is that they both have executive office experience.
You libs nervous yet? you should be. LOL
