Patterns of distortion in American statements about Ukrainian crisis

There is no uniparty you fng idiot.
i am ignoring the fng idiot, but he is not wrong that this misadventure received bipartisan support, opposed only by american heroes and patriots like cyndy mckinney and bernie sanders.

99% of the morons waving Ukraine flags have no idea about the history of the 2014 USA backed coup of a duly elected Ukraine leader.

They are ignorant as fuck.
Yeah... and we can all safely ignore the War Crime -caliber illegal Russian annexation of the Crimea, right?

Nothing was distorted by these two presidents. And

Crimea, Ukrainian Krym, also spelled Krim, autonomous republic, southern Ukraine. The republic is coterminous with the Crimean Peninsula, lying between the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. In 2014 Russia covertly invaded and illegally annexed Crimea, a move that was denounced by the international community.

Stop repeatin Putins lies.

That is just a lie.
The Crimea had always been part of Russia for over a thousand years.
Remember the Crimean war, around 1850?
That was the British trying to steal the Crimea from the Russians back then.

The Ukraine is not a country, and the words translate as the disputed borderlands between Poland and Russia.
There is no third country.
But after the Russian Revolution, the Allies tried to take everything from Russia they could, so they made up the Ukraine in the Treaty of Versailles.

Wrong.
Not only has the Crimea been Russian for over a thousand years, but the only time is was not part of Russia was a brief period when the Mongol invasion captured it, and after Khrushchev the Ukrainian illegally gave it to the Ukraine in 1955.
But Russia had the right to take it back since the Ukraine violated treaties by trying to prevent Russian use of Sevastopol.

Wrong. Not only has the Crimea been Russian for over a thousand years,
Given that the Kievan state... of good Viking stock... was eventually overrun by eastern barbarians...

It was hardly a voluntary association over time, and that includes the Stalinist genocide in Ukraine in the 1920s-1930s...

When the Germans swooped into Ukraine in 1941 most Ukrainians mistakenly welcomed the Germans as Liberators...

Only learning the truth over time as their occupiers revealed their true selves and their true intentions...

And given the Soviet mass deportations of Cossacks before and after WWII it has hardly been a voluntary association...

When the godless soulless Russian Soviet Union fell in 1991 the Ukrainians made their move to achieve independence...

Other than the Jews of Israel, if there has ever been an oppressed people deserving of freedom, it's the Ukrainians..

They now stand as a buffer and bulwark for NATO against the dictatorial imperialistic aspirations of the Russian despot...

They are deserving of the full support of NATO and the United States and the entire West, militarily and economically.

But Russia had the right to take it back since the Ukraine violated treaties by trying to prevent Russian use of Sevastopol.
Are you trying to tell us that the Ukrainians have no right to change their minds about their own sovereign soil?

Bull$hit, Tvaritch... you're merely and desperately trying to justify your abandonment of Ukraine with Weasel Words.

No Sale.

You support Putin and Russia.

That means you support their vicious Dresden -like bombing of Ukrainian cities and their rape and slaughter of innocents.

That means that you are the political adversary of Americans on both the Left and Right sides of the aisle who know better.

En garde.

It's hardly "mind reading" to know that Putin wants to re-establish the old Soviet Empire, given that Putin has made public statements to that effect.
Really? Is Russia Special Operation responsible for Climate Change too??

Special Operation my a$$... we're talking about an Undeclared War here... and another Russian attempted genocide in Ukraine.

Your willingness to use the Russian bull$hit designation of "Special Operation" tells us all we need to know about your loyalties.

Cmon man. AT least pretend you're not a Putin stooge

Is funding the war in Ukraine good for the American people?

Absolutely. Putin's whole point in attacking the Ukraine was to sucker the USA into declaring war on Russia. As long as the USA and NATO continues to fund the Ukraine and provide weapons, there will be no expansion of the war into current NATO nations. That's in everyone's best interests.

It should be obvious to anyone that the reason the invasion happened is because we were moving Ukraine toward NATO membership -- a trend Russia warned would lead to war.

Besides, if we actually wanted to win this, we'd force China to stop funding and arming Russia. We haven't even tried to do that.

This isn't about saving Ukraine. This is about making loads of money for the military industrial complex. The MIC needed another sandbox after we left Afghanistan, and Ukraine fits the bill.

That doesn't even make sense. Putin doesn't want to fight us head-on, because he knows a nuclear war is one nobody wins. The war doesn't benefit anyone other than the defense industries of the US and Russia.

What is in the best interests of the average Westerner and the average Russian is a truce that involves a partition plan and binding conditions that prevent both the US and Russia from escalating things further.

What’s in the best interest of the nation that was invaded?

At this point, the best that Ukraine can hope for is that whatever truce is arranged allows them to actually self-govern for once. Ever since Ukraine became independent, they've been manipulated by both the US and Russia. They've never really had a regime that was representative of the average citizen. It's always been a matter of either Western pawns or Russian pawns.

You folks and the Obama regime ignored it when it happened. You folks really do have the attention span of gnats.
Nope.

It was wrong then.

It is wrong now.

We cannot fix the "then".

But we have control over the "now" and what happens in it, don't we?

Horse shit. The best they can hope for is Russia to get the fuck out of their country
