Everyone had a part in this, including the school district.
The nics system, fbi 3 times, dcf, mental health worker, school district, and the non flagging by Broward Sheriffs Office, which had final approval of his application, after 37 visits to his home.

They did take action. They transferred him to a specialist school.

"In 2014, administrators transferred Cruz to an alternative school for children with emotional and behavioral disabilities - only to change course two years later and return him to a traditional neighborhood school, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School."

Yes they did something. I assume that his behaviour improved at his new school and he was able to go back. That is sort of how it works.

Let's be very patient with school administrators.

They are under tremendous pressure NOT to discipline students.

President Obama's government ordered all schools NOT to even suspend students for defiance of a teacher.

Some parents and activists said that schools were suspending too many students of certain ethnicities.

So even if school administrators want to run a tight ship, they are super cautious, lest they anger the government or the activists or the parents or the civil rights lawyers (who will sue at the drop of a hat).

It is a failure of all agencies involved. Perhaps more of the local police. They should have had him arrested after his first threat to shoot up the school.

And yes, you CAN be arrested for threats, it happens all the time....except in this instance
