Paramount Agrees to pay Trump $16 million in CBS 60 Minutes lawsuit

How in the world does Post #33 make Trump a hypocrite? You people really think strangely.
Were the words too big for you?

Fox News cut seven minutes from Trump's wild, meandering, nonsensical response to a question, and he sues 60 Minutes for editing Harris's response to a question.

And this hypocrisy somehow eludes you?!?

Post #33 has zero to do with free speech. It has everything to do with election fraud/manipulation/dishonesty.
Nope. Everything 60 Minutes did was protected by the first amendment.

It’s clear to rational people that Trump just wants to suppress freedom of the press for those who don’t say what he wants.

This is a total lie.
They took the answer out in it’s entirety and put a completely different answer in that looks – that makes her look like she’s normal

This would have been an easy win for Paramount. It would have taken a jury less than five minutes to rule in their favor.

However, Paramount is in the middle of a sale which requires federal approval, so their reasons for settling with Il Duce, who has veto power over the sale, are obvious.

All Paramount would have needed to do is show how often Fox News edits their interviews with Trump to excise his long-winded gibberings.

For example, the very same week Kamala Harris had her interview with 60 minutes, Trump had a "surprise visit" to a barbershop.

When one person asked Trump if there would come a day when federal taxes could be eliminated, Trump went on a SEVEN MINUTE wandering, nonsensical journey into bizarro world.

To make Trump look smart and normal, Fox News deleted all of that and only aired his first sentence, "There is a way."

The Hypocrite-in-Chief racks up another despicable victory.

Fox News edited Trump’s rambling answers and false claims in barbershop interview, full video shows

To make Trump look smart and normal, Fox News deleted all of that and only aired his first sentence, "There is a way."

A one sentence answer to the question he was asked.

If they had trimmed Kamala's jumbled rambling to a single sentence, he wouldn't have sued.

So you’re saying it’s worse if they edit less?

Jesus, you guys just say shit that you want to believe.

The first amendment protects his speech, but not the speech of people he doesn’t like.
If you are going to insert yourself into a campaign as a news reporter you should be sued... news reporters must remain unbiased... when you lie about one candidate knowingly its wrong... when you edit an interview to make one candidate look smarter than she is its wrong...
The days of this BS is over....

Where does the first amendment say anything like that?

It's more about deliberately making one side look good via edits, and other side look bad via edits, THEN lying about not doing so.

This is an example of how the edited DeSantis to make it look like he just brushed off a question.

No more biased reporting or you will be sued... take this in real good news agencies... no more bullshit... just the facts only....

Interfering in an election. Like broadcasting a fake video to make a candidate look better than they are, and calling it "news" instead of a campaign ad.
Citizens United says that’s free speech.

So you’re saying it’s worse if they edit less?

Jesus, you guys just say shit that you want to believe.

So you’re saying it’s worse if they edit less?

I'm saying if you take a part of her answer to the question it's better
than throwing out the entire answer and inserting an answer to a different question.

Why didn't Trump sue Fox News for editing out seven minutes of his response to a question?

Because it made him look smarter than he is.

He's a hypocrite.
well, there has to be damage for a lawsuit to exist.

Based on what you are saying, he had no case, since there was no damage.

Are you sure that’s what 60 Minutes did?

Citizens United says that’s free speech.
No, Citizens United didn't say that a news network, purposely editing what a candidate said, to make them sound better, was free speech.

What it did say was that T BCRA Section 203's prohibition of all independent political expenditures by corporations and unions violated the First Amendment's protection of free speech
