A recurring headline here in California and now nationally is how the Palisades fire victims are sadly, still in temporary housing awaiting their homes to be rebuilt.

This is reported as a tragedy we are suppose to be concerned with. The rich democrats of Los Angeles and Hollywood can not get their homes built.

I say good for the rich democrats, time to let them suffer like the rest of us in temporary housing. The majority, and I mean the vast majority of Californians are in temporary housing because there is no housing for us. There is no housing for most Americans. We live are now renting rooms. Actually we have been renting rooms since at least the 1980's in California. Why do I say good for the rich democrats, because they have lobbied and passed laws to keep their communities free of housing developments so that they dont have to suffer us people. Monterey California is an excellent example (they purposely do not build water infrastructure.)

The story is Newsom is not fit to govern nor be president.

It just makes me angry that the articles are written as if we should be concerned that the rich have to rent rich homes while I have to rent a lousy bedroom cause the rich vote to keep me in a lousy bedroom. I am in temporary housing! Most Americans are in temporary housing!
I get it, it is one story that they will use against Newsom as Newsom runs for President.

whoever builds homes for Americans, they will own the people's votes
More than 70 percent of people who were affected by the Palisades Fire in California from January are still living in temporary housing, according to a report.

Approximately 63% of Los Angeles residents rent their homes, making it a city with a high "rentership rate" compared to the national average. While data on the specific percentage of residents who only rent a room is not readily available, the high overall renter percentage indicates a significant number of people are renting in various arrangements.

I bet the number is much higher, I live in a house that had the living room converted into two bedrooms. There are five bedrooms rented to five strangers. The garage is converted to apartments/bedrooms as well. This one single family residence is now housing at least 7 adults.

My landlord owns at least 5 houses like this. All converted to apartment/houses, barracks, with a shared kitchen and bathroom. There is no parking, not with single family homes housing 7 working adults.

Newsom is a moron. The Santa Ana winds are not a new phenomenon---nor are mudslides in SoCal. LOL, neither is lousy government--something COULD be done about the last, but I don't think the majority parasites in the state would allow it.
It's 20 degrees there today. One would think MMGW wouldn't hold up permits today.

Today's home, in Los Angeles, on my way to work.

What happens in a california effects the entire country.

It becomes more and more obvious that the Democrats/leftists/progressives and such are really REALLY good at dishonest self-serving propaganda and really REALLY bad at addressing and competently fixing problems and don't seem to care that they are that way.

The reason why ths fire victims have not rebuilt is because they cannot get permits or inspections. The reason is these victims are being pressured to sell to developers. No other reason.

Newsome blames Man Made Global Warming.

Except for the fact that the State of California failed to clean up the brush, emptied a reservoir responsible for water hydrant and fire control.
The ordered firefighters from the smouldering fire prone areas allowing the fires to reignite.

Yup, just think, instead of those large lots and mansions in that area, it can be sub divided again into tiny home lots and those hillsides can be covered with shacks---just like you can see across the border in Mexico. LOL, then when the mudslides come, more money can be put into the politicians pockets.

Nobody is shocked by this.

The Palisades voted Republican in the previous mayoral election.

The story is Newsom is not fit to govern nor be president.

Correct, but he will be because by the time 2028 rolls around people will be so sick of Trump it will be "vote blue no matter who."

California will vote blue regardless

I see where you went wrong……you are assuming Gelboi cares about reality.

They are going to do what they always do. I have see this numerous time. MORE THAN ONCE. They will designate the area for low income housing. Now, low and middle wage workers will finally have a decent home at an affordable price.

Once these units are built, between the material, permits, environmental studies and reports, workers, insurance, pollution mitigation, and whatever else they come up with these condos must be sold in excess of one million dollars for the studio, going up from there.

And everyone knows it.

Tiny homes--condos are too expensive and cost too much to raze.

I listen to a local radio show. You are right. The city and state government are up to no good.

I drive by that area frequently. From santa monica to beyond malibu, that coast line should be demolished and redeveloped as a 22nd century city.

It really is a joke, as far as developments go and it will be again unless somebody decides what will work for the future.

Proof that it is a joke, the fire. More proof is the beach erosion, we now have many houses built above the water on sticks from the last century. How does an insurance money pay a claim to rebuild a house that had the land washed out from under it?

They need to move pacific coast highway off the water, they need to tell these people sorry the land is gone we dont build on water.

California is nuts, cause rich democrats dictate to the politicians or are the politicians

A forced choice cause the democrat mayor is terrible and should never of been in the election.

The palisades was democrat before and during the fire. I doubt they voted for Trump or supported Trump in any way.

The palisades victims, sad day for the millionaires.

This is a false equivalence.
