Except when it wasn't. The loosely defined land area called Palestine was a Sanjak, or administrative area of the Ottoman Empire

There haven't been any Dhimmis for a couple hundred years. Do you even know what that was about?
The Jizya tax was less than Muslims pay and was only paid by able bodied men who wanted to opt out of community defense. The reason it was LESS is because Muslims didn't want Christian and Jews to convert to Islam because they could save money.. That would be a form of coersion.

The only trutrh, which we both know,,is that there was no such thing as a Palestinian people prior to the establishment of Israel. There were just Arabs , Jews, Druze, etc.
