The Jizya tax was less than Muslims pay and was only paid by able bodied men who wanted to opt out of community defense. The reason it was LESS is because Muslims didn't want Christian and Jews to convert to Islam because they could save money.. That would be a form of coersion.

No one in the Arab world wants another caliphate except ISIS.. The last one was a dud. In fact the Emir of Mecca declared himself Caliph in 1924 and was chased off the Arabian peninsula by Ibn Saud.
