Israel, the Jewish State, was not created by the U.N. in 1947 or any other year. It was reclaimed by the Jews in 1947. The first 'Nation State' to ever exist in the area between Egypt and Syria, (Assyria), and the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea was the Kingdom of Israel. There have always been, "Children Of Israel" living in the above described Land. Before Israel, there were only tribes and city states in the land ran by tyrants and despots. 'Jews', 'Children Of Israel' (Abraham was renamed Israel by God) have had a constant presence in the Promised Land since they returned from their sojourn in Egypt and conquered the uncivilized tribes and city-states in the area. Even after the Roman Diaspora there was a sizable presence of Jews in The Holy Land. They never officially gave it up and are still the most historical owners of the before described Land.

However, as long as Palestine was still officially under Turkish control none of that could be legal. Once the Treaty of Lausanne was signed, and Palestine was released from Turkish control, all of that preliminary stuff became legal. This was the same as all the other newly created states in the region.

Arabs told the palestinian to leave. Considering the size of the land the fact is was underpopulated, there was more than enough for arabs and jews. Most of Jordan's citizens are palestinians. Arab population doubled in size under the mandate due to arab immigration to the land. They came seeking jobs. It only require working and living in the mandate two years before the mandate ended to be called palestinians.
Palestinians did not have to leave. Propaganda and lie made them fear and run.
Arabs had raped and pillaged jews for more than 20 yrs so when arab radio told of horrors that Israel was committing against palestinians the listeners believed it.
It was never questioned, so they left.
Palestinians that stayed were welcomed as Israelis. Reunification programs were set up to integrate refugees back into Israel.

Correct but the arab muslims decided that they did not want to accept the LAWS so they expelled 500,000 Palestinians from their homes in may 1948. Then 1 million Jews from their homes the next year.
