It does seem to me that there is a considerable distinction to be made between a country, Israel, exercising a policy of daily persecution and periodic mass murder of defenseless Palestinian civilian families as against harmless firecrackers from time to time by individuals in response to provocations.
When very serious charges of criminality made against sovereign state are mentioned alongside small scale accusations against individuals or rogue groups, equivalency is implied and the deplorable conduct of the Israelis is minimized.
My suggestion would be for the Israelis to stop provoking the Palestinians and quit their occupation.
But you still haven't answered my question. Should Gazans be held to international law? Yes or no? Its a simple question.
You suggest that Israel stop "provoking" the Palestinians and end their occupation? You are not the first to suggest that. Indeed, that is the suggestion heard over and over and over again.
How is Israel to do that when the mere presence of a Jew is a provocation? When the mere suggestion of a prayer to G-d on the lips of a Jew is a provocation? When a Star of David, or a book with Hebrew writing is a provocation? How do you end the occupation when the fact that you can re-enter the territory at anytime still constitutes an "occupation"? How do you end the occupation when Jewish sovereignty is forbidden?
I ask over and over again what Israel must do to end the occupation. And no one answers. Dare you be the first?
