"Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Wednesday his delegation of peace negotiators has resigned over the lack of progress in U.S.-brokered statehood talks with Israel that have been clouded by Jewish settlement building.

The development would mark a new low point for the talks with Israel that resumed in July and which officials from both sides have said have made little headway.

In an interview with Egyptian CBC television, Abbas suggested the negotiations would continue even if the Palestinian peace delegation sticks to its decision.

"Either we can convince it to return, and we're trying with them, or we form a new delegation," he said"

I do not believe this is a serious effort to foster peace. A delegation quits because there are problems....These hurdles are exactly what this team is supposed to overcome...

No question the settlements are an issue. But let us not forget that if not for the surrounding Arab countries uniting to annihilate Israel, there would have been no captured land to build settlements on.

Negotiating is the process of attempting to agree on a solution. Compromising, or settling on a mutually agreeable solution, is the result of successful negotiations. Compromise is all about being flexible. It means being able to generate alternate solutions when you’ve “hit the wall.”

Say the Israelis did stop building. Then what? Israel is never going to go back to Borders that were never " International " before 1967, give up rights to their religious sites, or allow " Right of Return". What exactly did the Palestinians contribute beside demanding Israel give in to all demands? Nothing.

So true. Over the years Israel makes peace offerings to Palestinians & receives jihad's & intifadas for a thank you. Israel builds a security fence to cut down on Palestinian attacks killing Israeli civilians & the Palestinians call it an apartheid wall. Israel concedes to their demand for a Jew free Gaza & Israel is bombarded with endless rocket missiles in return.

So very sad that the one & only peace ever established from Palestinians was Jordan's Black September. Is this the only option the Palestinians want to leave for Israel to resort to as well for a lasting peace?

What is still missing in any negotiations with Abbas is the resolution of the issue surrounding Hamas. They are not an active participant and has shown no willingness to amend their charter. The PA / Fatah is in no position to negotiate anything with a hostile, belligerent islamist terrorist organization that occupies territory Fatah does not and can not control.

The Palestinians are the ones with the Pre- Conditions; They demand;


67 Borders which were never reognized before
Totally leaving E. Jerusalem which would deprive them of their most religious sites
" Right of Return" which would eventually make the Jewish people the minority
Land WITHIN the " borders" that never existed linking Gaza to the W. Bank. Obviously, this didn't exist before 67

With all the above; What is there to " negotiate?"
