There are multiple mutations shared between geographical variants from around the world. Therefore, the precise geographical location of RaTG13 may be relevant. Daszak’s argument can be questioned on those grounds. Furthermore, the increased potency of Bungarus toxin, studied at Ft. Detrick, is comparable with the same mutation in both COVID-19 and fentanyl that makes both the virus and the drug more potent. The problem is, that nothing is published on a subspecies of Bungarus, Bungarus multicinctus wanghaotingi, and this subspecies links to the Yuanjiang River region and Daszak’s Eco Health Alliance at Dali City.
