A republican politician is exposed for helping far right rioters enter the Oregon Capitol.

He is caught on video opening the door to the far right wingers. Who then entered and attacked the police with chemical irritants. The police prevailed and got them out of the capitol.

Outside the far right rioters broke windows on the capitol and assaulted journalists.

Now he faces possibly being expelled from the Oregon congress.

We will have to wait to see what happens.

It’s a public building and he is an employee of the people of the Stste of Oregon. He did exactly what he should have done.

Only in very rare circumstances should the Public be barred from any State/Federal property.

He faces more than just expulsion. If they are charged as a single criminal conspiracy, then he can be charged with any felonies the rest of them are charged with as well, since he will likely be considered part of the conspiracy for aiding them. He obviously had prior knowledge of the plot and was eating them from the beginning.

This also makes you wonder how many people hated the January 6 attack. the attackers on January 6th have a suspiciously detailed layout of the Capitol building, along with the schedules and office locations of various Democrats and never Trump Republicans

It's still a crime to enter a public building with the intent of committing a crime. so the question is whether or not it can be proven that he knew that they were there to commit an attack. If it can be proven that he did then he can be not only expelled Congress but charged with every felony that they are charged with accessory to their crimes

Sounds like they only need 2 republicans to cross the line and the guy is history.

That information should be publicly available every day of the year. Schedules, office locations, etc… should be public record.

it’s time these motherfuckers remember who they work for.

What crime would that be, exactly? These politicians need to have the Fear of the Public put back in their hearts and their minds. At every second they should be aware that their thoughts, words and actions may be observed by their employees, with potentially unpleasant consequences.

A year with leftist freaks rioting in the streets of Portland nearly every night....Attempting to burn down buildings with people in them....YAWN.

One stupid asshole republican doing a stupid asshole thing, and it's the worst criminal transgression since Pearl Harbor.

If the moonbats didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all.

You already did this story once.... Only... It's not showing the video this time. I wonder why.......................

Yeah, this was one of those times because the building was closed to the public at the time.

He's been charged with First Degree Official Misconduct and Second Degree Criminal Trespassing.

From the Washington Post on Saturday, June 7th:

"Before violent Oregon Capitol breach, GOP lawmaker coached people on how to slip in, video shows"

"The meeting video, which Oregon Public Broadcasting surfaced last week and that apparently was recorded the week before the Dec. 21 breach, sheds new light on Nearman’s earlier discussions before he walked out of a special session and opened the door for maskless demonstrators who rushed inside and clashed with police. Dozens eventually entered the building that day, some attacking officers and damaging property, video shows. Police arrested at least five people on charges including trespassing and assault.

Nearman, 57, is charged with misdemeanor counts of first-degree official misconduct and second-degree criminal trespass. Online court records do not show a plea, and he and his lawyer did not immediately respond to requests for comment Saturday."

So, this elected moke says the building should be open to all people all the time.

Which, given his actions in those days leading up to that day, and the day itself.....well, it seems to me it would make for a bit of a conflicted vibe with his colleagues, and with the police guarding the Capitol. Who would trust this jerk going forward?

This moke introduced these Patriot Jackasses...one with a gun.....to a way to get behind the backs of his colleagues and the police. Made them all extremely vulnerable. Thankfully the gun-nut didn't shoot anybody, but.....but one or more of 'em sprayed these Captiol police in the face with Mace (or, as they call it, a "chemical irritant").

In the Capitol!
A uniform officer!
In the face!

Throw the book at the elected jerk and the Jackass Patriots who entered.

Crimes plural. He's been charged with First Degree Official Misconduct and Second Degree Criminal Trespassing. They need to through in a conspiracy charge, as well.

I freely admit... That changes some things. Looks like someone is better at this than you are Dana...

The REAL crimes are commuted by the lawmakers, every day they’re in office.

Well, poster 'Shelzin' you ain't alone in recognizing the dynamics have changed.
So did every one of the good Congressman's party colleagues....this very afternoon.
From the Oregon news site--"OregonLive", we get this reportage.

"Embattled Oregon Rep. Mike Nearman’s Republican colleagues urge him to resign"

Updated 2:13 PM; Today 2:03 PM

All of Rep. Mike Nearman’s Republican colleagues in the Oregon House signed a letter Monday asking the embattled lawmaker to resign.

Nearman, who represents a rural district west of Salem, is under pressure from both parties to step down for his role in letting violent demonstrators into the Capitol on Dec. 21.

Democrats, including House Speaker Tina Kotek, issued calls months ago for Nearman to resign. Until now, Nearman’s fellow Republicans in the House had been largely silent.

That changed Monday when Republicans hand-delivered a letter to Nearman that was signed by all 22 of the other members of the House Republican caucus, including the top House Republican, Rep. Christine Drazan of Canby.

“Today, we strongly recommend that you resign from the Oregon House of Representatives,” reads the letter, which was obtained by The Oregonian/OregonLive.

“Given the newest evidence that has come to light regarding the events of December 21, 2020, it is our beliefs as friends and colleagues that it is in the best interest of your caucus, your family, yourself, and the state of Oregon for you to step down from your office,” the letter concluded."

I guarantee you. The endless real insurrections all across America are from within.

How many times can they burn down a city?

eah, this was one of those times because the building was closed to the public at the time
I don’t believe these buildings should be closed to the public. The employees don’t get to tell their employees when, where and how the employees will interact with them.
What you believe is irrelevant. All gov't buildings have certain hours when they're open to the public and other times when they're closed. But some areas are always closed to the public, or do you think you should have access to official gov't document filing cabinets and their telephonic center and their computer room? But if they want to close the entire building to the public for legitimate reasons on occasion, they're certainly within their rights to do so.
