Oral Arguments in "Opt-out" Case

Unless everyone opts to live their life other than how you do, they have mental problems it seems.

It's their life, not yours.
Because nature designed us to continue the species. I don't make the rules, I just point them out.

Every sexual proclivity other than a man/woman is a deviant. Reality simply is.

And then we can break it down to those who believe certain sexual acts between a man and a woman is deviant even though none of it is their business.

Hetetosexual marriage can create kids, but many are remaining child free. Is that ok or is the purpose of marriage kids?

Of course it's okay. The purpose of marriage is to mirror God's creation. That some cannot have children doesn't make the mirror dimmer.

(I do think some people choose not to have children for purely selfish reasons though)

Every sexual act between a man and a woman is completely normal. Nature uses these techniques to stimulate reproductive sex between the two,

It doesn't always create children.

Which also happens in heterosexual marriages.

Many children end up extremely grateful for a family to come along to raise them.

A heterosexual couple, married in the prime of life, WILL have children unless there are physical problems.

A homosexual couple never will.

Even little children can understand this.

The species seems to be carrying on and if nature really cared that much, so many wouldn't be born without an ability to reproduce.
Exceptions to every rule. But, the rule still stands.

Getting back to the thread topic, this is about a religious student opting out of a classroom lesson. Who is being harmed by that?

To be honest as a veteran teacher I was torn about this ruling.

For starters: I agree that sexual lessons aside from the basics (like personal safety and reproduction) do not need to be taught in school.

BUT

In my content area Islam can be a nightmare for teachers. Depending on what each individual imam decides, students may not be able to: sing, play drums, play any instruments, move their bodies to music, or even LISTEN to music.

And yet, all children go to music class. What is the music teacher supposed to do with that? It's THEIR religion, as capricious as it is.

I think parents can "opt out" but parents who send their children to public schools need to realize that it's not a 1 on 1 ratio and they will have to make compromises.

FWIW

Selfishness goes with this kind of economics. Capitalism is about making the dollar, solely.
