One of the biggest arguments people have about our healthcare system is the illusion of “choice”

There is nothing totalitarian about universal health care, but it refuses care to people who fund the system aka. "racists".

Rigby5 is an anti-American bigot.

No, racists are not excluded from getting health care in any country with socialized medicine.

Except that is what they are literally doing.

It's interesting how you claim that this is not happening as a response to a video that says it is literally happening.

And yes it is totalitarian, you don't get to redefine the terms of discussion, no matter how much the communist manifesto says it is normal.

Thanks for simplifying that for us. People can choose between dying and surviving. You’re so right.

Everyone makes that choice. Did you believe you were exempt?

I have bad news for you.
I agree. Looking at my birth certificate I can find nothing on it that indicates I'm entitled to anything.

When we decide we want a better society, we elect to provide entitlements.
For example, free roads instead of all toll roads, free public education, free fire fighting, etc.
It makes for a better society.
We all enjoy the improvements.

And free health care would also make the whole society much better.

You want better society for moochers, not for me, not for Americans.

To me your society is objectively worse in every way. Speak only for yourself, you are not speaking for others.

Public health care is much cheaper and better quality than what we pay and get now, so there is no reason to be against it.

It sure is cheaper for a moocher like yourself.

For others it will cost literally an arm and a leg.

Again you’re failing to comprehend. The point made above was Americans believe they have a choice, but they really don’t.

Americans have more choice than under Bernie's totalitarian system.

That is silly, because there is nothing remotely totalitarian about public health care.
Socialism does not mean you can't buy private insurance or health care, but just that public health care would be made available for free or very inexpensive.
We know what it is like, because almost every country in the world has socialized medicine, and it works much better than what we have.
We are ranked 37 which is very low.
http://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/best-healthcare-in-the-world/

So if there is nothing remotely totalitarian about universal health care, what if I want to opt out and not pay for your free shit? I assume that's an option.

No that is not an option because all humans in a human society do have an obligation to the health and welfare of all other humans in the society.

That's not what the constitution says. Oh you are talking about the communist manifesto, yes according to that document we are responsible for providing free shit for morons indeed.

Haul your ass out of our country, anti-American bigot.

Wrong.
The constitution says we all have the right to life, and that can't be defended unless we then all have equal access to health care.
Not being allowed access to health care means you die if you get sick or injured.
That essentially is murder.

The video is lying.
If it costs less and has better quality, then it is more efficient and popular.
That means it can't be totalitarian.
There are lots of thing we vote on and make law, like traffic laws.
The fact they then are forced, does not make them totalitarian, as long they are popular, necessary, and fair.
Public health care is cheaper and better, so is popular, necessary, and fair.

Everything we want and expect government to do is always socialist.
There is nothing we expect government to do that is based on the profit motive of capitalism.

Here’s that Medicare-for-all study Bernie Sanders keeps bringing up
A single-payer health-care system would save more than 68,000 lives and $450 billion a year, new research shows
All told, the study concludes, a single-payer system akin to Sanders’s plan would slash the nation’s health-care expenditures by 13 percent, or more than $450 billion, each year. Not only that, “ensuring health-care access for all Americans would save more than 68,000 lives.”

In their breakdown of the numbers, researchers applied the existing Medicare fee structure across the entire health-care system and found it would save about $100 billion annually. Keep in mind that this basically represents less money going to doctors and hospitals, a major sticking point for medical groups that oppose Medicare-for-all. But those declines would be more than offset by several hundred billions in savings from reduced administrative and billing costs, Galvani and her colleagues estimate. The lack of patient billing under a Medicare-for-all system would also eliminate the roughly $35 billion a year that hospitals now pay to chase down unpaid bills.

It won't save a dime. There are more holes in that study than in Swiss cheese.

Of course America's health expenditure is higher, for starters others use our care because their's suck. But other than that America has much higher standard of care combined with worse life choices. All the RnD happens here.

Those are costs that can't be wished away with utopian socialist thinking. Government won't save anything in administrative costs.

Why aren't you moving to those countries already? Let Americans live as Americans wish and you can move to your craphole of choice.

Our wonderful utopian for-profit healthcare system gives Americans CHOICE. Americans gotta have that choice! We can choose our own doctors and Medicare for all would take that way!

It’s possible such a socialist system would, but not necessarily. Let’s pretend it did though. What other “choices” does our current healthcare system offer? Low paying premiums & high deductibles vs high paying monthly premiums & lower deductibles? Rationing essential but unaffordable medicine? That’s some fucking choice right there! That’s the American way! Go bankrupt over healthcare costs!

You know the rich and middle class would need to pay more in taxes with a Medicare for all system, but they would still ultimately save money by not having to worry about monthly premiums, prescription costs, Co-pays, and high deductibles.

Or going on vacation or getting Christmas because Uncle Sammy (you know, those morons who just ran the impeachment hoax) does not know shit about running anything.

Lol I don’t need to know you and your family’s needs because all that matters is statistics. Statistically, medical costs is one of the top reasons Americans file for bankruptcy.

You have a choice ... pay for healthcare or don't.

What other choice do you want?
Thanks for simplifying that for us. People can choose between dying and surviving. You’re so right.

You get that it's only 'free' for a few ... most people will pay more than they would normally in taxes to cover for others paying nothing.

You know the rich and middle class would need to pay more in taxes with a Medicare for all system, but they would still ultimately save money by not having to worry about monthly premiums, prescription costs, Co-pays, and high deductibles.

Seeing as you have zero idea as to what my income, expenses, and family's medical needs are, or that of the other 300 million people in this country, you are in no position to assume anything.
Lol I don’t need to know you and your family’s needs because all that matters is statistics. Statistically, medical costs is one of the top reasons Americans file for bankruptcy.

How about a figure on what the average bankruptcy is.

Last I heard it was less than 20 grand. Less than the cost of a good used car.

Now, tell me just how that is allowed to happen.

What we need are mandatory budgeting classes.

Leftist lies.

Most people do not go to bankrupt because medical costs. It's on the ballpark with other countries. Furthermore, the number is so small that it's hardly an argument on how the entire nation should conduct its policy.

So many people go bankrupt because of taxes... perhaps even all. We need to eliminate taxes.
