One more step, in the guidelines to becoming a dictator, that Trump took today!

Thoughts From an Independent:

Now that President Trump has fired BLS commissioner Erika McEntarffer accusing her of rigging data to reflect poorly on his administration, Goldman Sachs over the weekend released its revision estimates set to be published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in September will reveal a 550,000-950,000 downward revision in the Government jobs report for the 12-month period through March 2025.

This longstanding practice by Donald Trump of firing people who report things he doesn't want to hear or simply accusing them of issuing "Fake News" is beginning to wear thin, even by some of his supporters.

Goldman Sachs has no reason to falsify employment data. In addition to being a well-respected financial institution, Goldman Sachs has been remarkably accurate with its employment revision reports for decades irrespective of partisan politics. So - What will "The Donald" do now? Sue Goldman Sachs? Try to fire them as well? What will Trump do if other financial institutions of fund managers' report similar data?

When I know more, so will you dear readers. Off the record. On the Q-T. And very Hush-Hush! :bye1:

You certainly take "dumbass" to a new level. You quoted the exact reason why she was fired and then doubled down on it! Biden was President when those fake job numbers were posted! Trump became president in January 2025. None of his policies would have any impact before then. She was fired because BLS was posting bad numbers to influence voters.

I think your TDS is flaring.

It depends on if she was purposely being dishonest and manipulating for political effect and timing or not.

Based on the 900,000 job overstatement before the election coupled with the overstatement early when Trump took office and the downshift later to time with tariffs, I'd err on the side of a finding a more competent, accurate and reliable person in that role.

You’re not a fan of thinking critically.

You just accept he does whatever he wants and you don’t dare question your daddy’s motives or wisdom.
Yeah ok, you think what you want, but what’s the use in responding to you if you’re just going to denigrate what I say anyway….Classy.

Trump gives you the narratives. He says the numbers are fake. You say the numbers are fake. He says the director is political. You say the director is political. He says the economy is booming. You say the economy is booming.
Ok, so what? And you said Biden was sharp as a tac…And..?

I denigrate responses that lack critical thinking.

Saying that he’s the executive and can fire them isn’t critical thinking.

Biden was forced to leave the race.

When have you ever forced Trump to do anything? You just bend over.

Liberals can't define, nor can they recognize failure.
That is so obvious.

Perhaps if Erika had given the actual numbers, or even close to the actual numbers
the federal reserve may have reduced the interest rate. But, we'll never know because
of her willy-nilly approach to politics.

Great scoop, Jimmy.

It’s reminiscent of Joseph Stalin.

Doesn’t it kind of depend on whether the “messenger” is conveying real numbers or just tossing out biased politically partisan bullshit?
