Yup....believe it or not.....Another Obama failure.

Add this one to the dozens of domestic policy failures....but, put it near the top, as it has Obama's name on it.

"8 More Obamacare Co-ops Will Probably Shut Down

12 of the 23 taxpayer funded non-profit co-ops created under the Affordable Care Act were shuttered, and the largest of them is under investigation.

By the end of 2014, 21 of the 23 non-profit health insurance co-ops created under the ACA were losing money. Enrollment was well beneath expectations in 13 of the 23 plans.

And the news isn’t getting any better.

Records obtained by Richard Pollack of the Daily Caller indicate another 8 co-ops might be on their way out this year:
'...there’s not a turnaround in sight. The same problems that plagued them before are continuing,”
8 More Obamacare Co-ops Will Probably Shut Down

Obama and ObamaCare Co-ops....
....the same rates of success.

Bet there's a run on that Goo-Gone stuff to remove the "Obama/Biden" bumper stickers.

What does this mean for the health care?

Healthcare????

ObamaCare has nothing to do with healthcare....and never did.

In 1986, the great Ronald Reagan made certain that every person in the United States had healthcare......whether a citizen of not.

"The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA)[1] is an act of the United States Congress, passed in 1986 as part of the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA). It requires hospital Emergency Departments that accept payments fromMedicare to provide an appropriate medical screening examination (MSE) to individuals seeking treatment for a medical condition, regardless of citizenship, legal status, or ability to pay. There are no reimbursement provisions. Participating hospitals may not transfer or discharge patients needing emergency treatment except with the informed consent or stabilization of the patient or when their condition requires transfer to a hospital better equipped to administer the treatment."

How could you not know that????

ObamaCare is simply another big government power grab.
Never needed.
Never well planned.
One more Leftwing failure.

Ok, thanks. Old Prussia had free hospitals, too.
But I wanted to know what happens when such a co-op fails. Will tax money be used in that case?

The Democrats who tossed the money into the abyss don't care....after all, it's only billions....

"Trainwreck: Billions Have Been Wasted On Failed Obamacare Exchanges
....the federal government doled out $5.5 billion in taxpayer dollars to help fund President Obama’s health care reform. So far, the recovery totals are “non-existent,” with hundreds of millions of dollars being misappropriated...."

OK, reforms cost money and Obamacare may be a failure. But I still don´t get what these co-ops are for and what happens when they lose money.

actually they dont care because it isnt their money wasted to begin with

it is always easier to waste money

1- if it isnt yours

and

2- when there is no practical accountability

"Insurers warn losses from ObamaCare are unsustainable
Health insurance companies are amplifying their warnings about the financial sustainability of the ObamaCare marketplaces as they seek approval for premium increases next year.
....there is a growing likelihood that insurers will push for substantial premium increases, creating a political problem for Democrats in an election year."

Insurers warn losses from ObamaCare are unsustainable

And this is how the abject stupidity of Obama voters hurt everyone.

What does this mean for the health care?

It means that posters who don't read each others' threads will start multiple threads about this as if it's some GREAT BIG SCARY NEWS!!!!!

(It isn't.)

If you take them seriously, it could be bad for your health. ;)

You're a "he"? Or did you just not notice how many other threads there are about the co-ops, thus proving my point?

Right on the heels of a town hall announcement from one of hospitals in my state.

State can't meet the 85 million requirement to recieve federal match money. Which means Medicare is 400 million short. Now the hospital Is scrambling to fund all the Medicare patients with no funds available.

Guess where the money is coming from?

Especially since state can't afford a tax increase due to the destruction of the gas and oil industry.

Anyone?

Well, then, I'd follow the paper trail. Someone in your state legislature didn't do their homework, either out of carelessness or out of "That'll show Obama!" balkiness.
