Another old tweet from Donald Trump has gone viral again, but for the wrong reasons.

As the president continued to ramp up his rhetoric against Iran, critics pointed to a November 2013 social media post where Trump accused then-President Barack Obama of planning to attack Iran.

“Remember that I predicted a long time ago that President Obama will attack Iran because of his inability to negotiate properly—not skilled!” Trump wrote, when he was still a reality TV personality.

The resurfaced tweet sparked comments about irony, given Trump’s recent saber-rattling against Tehran.

trump always does or is preparing to do what he accuses others of doing. He is preparing to attack the underground Iranian reactor. trump has a hard time making up his mind. Unfortunately, the two people he is listening to are Miller and Netanyahu. They both have personal agendas that are based on their personal grudges or their effort to stay out of jail.

What Trump has demonstrated in spades, in both his first Administration and even more pointedly in this one, is that Trump has no ability to negotiate whatsoever. I spent 30 years working for real estate lawyers in Toronto, during which time I was frequently required to sit in on the negotiations and make notes from which to draft the final agreements.

My first lawyer was the best of the bunch. When he walked into the room, he knew more about the vendor and the property, than the Vendor's lawyer. Working for him, I came to realize that a good lawyer pays his own fees, and this guy was a very good lawyer. He once noticed a 4 letter word missing from a mortgage contract, which saved our client $12,000 in interest payments.

Trump famously doesn't read or prepare for negotiations. He walks into the room, "reads the room" and goes with his "gut instincts". He says he has pretty good gut instincts because he's rich. These are the same "gut instincts" that have lead him to file for Chapter 11 six times. Trump may have gotten rich but nobody else connected with these projects prospered.

When Trump broadcast his "negotiating session" with Nancy Pelosi over the 2018/19 government shutdown, Trump walked in and said "I want $X billion to build a Wall", and Pelosi said "No", and Trump walked out. He didn't wait for her to make a counter offer, or even listen to anything else she said, he just walked out. My first thought was "Well that explains why he's gone bankrupt 6 times".

If you don't even know what the other side wants or what they're prepared to offer, how can you determine what you have that you can use to induce them to give you what you want? That is how negotiation works: You have something I want. I have something you want. Let's make a deal. Trump told Pelosi what he wanted and then walked out. Stupidest move ever. 30 days later, Trump caved in and reopened the government, and he got NOTHING from Pelosi.

Trump has started trade wars with all of the nations in the world. So far, he's signed one deal. He keeps claiming he doesn't have enough staff to deal with all of the countries who want to negotiate. So why would you demand negotiations immediately, without having the staff or the resources to quickly resolve the negotiations. Wouldn't you pick one or two of your larger trading partners and request a new deal? Last time Trump started 7 negotiations at once, and signed 3 deals in 4 years - Korea, Japan and NAFTA 2.0.

He signed an interim deal with China which was just bullshit. It said that by 2025, they'd buy American rice and soy beans at 2018 levels. It was a fake deal memo for election purposes. The Chinese haven't honored that deal either.

Trump has never signed a contract he wasn't prepared to violate or tear up. He's a fraud and a criminal. What he is not and has never been, is a great negotiator.

The same thing happened under Biden. The Courts ordered Biden to return the rest of the Iranian's money held in US banks, because all of the law suits from the 911 families had been paid out and settled.

When American Courts issue Orders, Democratic Administrations abide by those Orders.

IMVO (In My Vaunted Opinion) you fail to grasp the meaning of Trump's Tweet (besides the
fact that you have no idea, in general ----WTF is going on) Trump WROTE THE BOOK on
MAKIING THE DEAL. He was more into that idea than a REALISTIC approach to Iran's
rabid imperialism especially since back then it was not HE UPON WHOSE SHOULDER THE
