Oklahoma ready to put God back in the schools

It's better than no Bible at all.
Government should not be promoting ANY establishment of religion.

That's my job as a parent, not Uncle Sam's.

The Oklahoma constitution is very clear, it does not allow this kind of activity.

(I ought to know, I had two kids in school there).

Locals are refusing to comply and there's not a damn thing anyone can do about it.

I'm guessing it's a version of the Schofield Bible favoring the sophistry that the Jews are God's Chosen People and the Goyim and others are inferior.

Wow, this thread even has rants against Schofield.

My dad has this old license plate from his car that reads "Oklahoma is OKay." The should use that as an inspiration for a new plate. It should say, "The bible is OK."

Putting God in schools is just as offensive as restricting God from schools. The intent of Oklahoma is not to put God in schools but to allow God in schools. Religious orientated students won't have to hide in shadows fearing a gestapo raid for reading the Bible during lunch hour and Bible class would be just as welcome as satanist clubs are today. Why do lefties fear the 1st Amendment freedom of religion so much?
Reading the Bible during lunch hour has never been an issue, Even the ACLU recognizes the student's rights to do so. Bible classes are taught all over this country as literature classes. They are not taught in biology, math or industrial arts (how to build an Ark). You simply cannot promote Christianity over another. Oklahoma best walk a thin line lest they violate court precedent on allowing religious observations in school.

A kid can be arrested for merely carrying a Bible in class. It's not an exaggeration that a gestapo squad would raid a Bible study on school grounds. The author of the1948 Supreme Court decision that created the modern "separation church/state" was none other than a KKK member (Justice Black) appointed to the Court by FDR. Separation of church and state had no basis in the Constitution. As a matter of fact it was in direct violation of the 1st Amendment guaranteeing freedom of religion.
Why are you posting such bullshit? I was required to study educational law in order to get my admin certification. We have to pass a test on such laws in order to get our "license" to be principals. I could keep a Bible on my desk if I wanted. I just couldn't read it at a student assembly or in class. I taught the topics of Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Taoism, Shintoism, Confucianism and others as topics in history classes. I taught in an inner-city school where most of my students were NOT Christian.

We had a ceremony called, "See You At The Pole" where students would gather in a prayer circle around the school flagpole before class in the morning. No teachers were ever involved.

You are simply making shit up or posting from ignorance.

Maybe we are talking about different things. Virtually the entire Republican Party supports school vouchers and school choice. The vast majority of Republicans are pro-Israel and a large number are Christian. When Trump was President, his Secretary of Education was very much pro-voucher.

The GOP platform calls for 'universal school choice.' What would that mean for students?
She was pro-voucher because she was a huge supporter of private schools. They wanted the tax dollars for their tuition.
