Clinical Dreams: Anthropological Dudes
The MLB-scandal adapted film Eight Men Out (based on a book) nicely represents an American focus on values-based sports-social aspirations, so maybe we could consider how such sociology talk in the media reflects capitalism-related sports-savvy concerns regarding the otherwise *bizarre* Raiders move to Vegas.
I think I'll watch Honeymoon in Vegas tonight...
====
BUDDY RYAN: I know the Eagles would never move to Vegas...
JOHN MADDEN: I never suspected the Raiders would either...
RYAN: I also thought the Raiders have always been a California team.
MADDEN: They should move the Raiders to Pasadena.
RYAN: The Pasadena Raiders (or Rams!).
MADDEN: Why not?
RYAN: If it's profitable, there's an 'angle.'
MADDEN: It's all about 'angles' now...
RYAN: So many video games out there too.
MADDEN:
Madden Nation is culturally-symbolic.
RYAN: The Raiders should hire a scholarly PR agent.
MADDEN: That would be funny and cool simultaneously.
RYAN: I agree.
MADDEN: I've always been a fan of 'clinics' --- sports-training clinics, sports-negotiation clinics, etc., etc.
