I guess it's not a cult after all . . .

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. Air Force said Thursday it would deny all transgender service members who have served between 15 and 18 years the option to retire early and would instead separate them without retirement benefits. One Air Force sergeant said he was “betrayed and devastated” by the move.

The move means that transgender service members will now be faced with the choice of either taking a lump-sum separation payment offered to junior troops or be removed from the service.

An Air Force spokesperson told The Associated Press that “although service members with 15 to 18 years of honorable service were permitted to apply for an exception to policy, none of the exceptions to policy were approved.” About a dozen service members had been “prematurely notified” that they would be able to retire before that decision was reversed, according to the spokesperson who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal Air Force policy.

I agree that pursuing the transgender lifestyle, including hormones and other gender treatment, rather than just cross-dressing on the drag equivalent of karaoke night, is incompatible with military service. But their CIC said they were fine to do that and that the military would pay for it, so they did it. As long as they followed all other orders, and did their jobs when not on medical leave, they were in compliance.

Give them their early retirement and be rid of them. This move will only garner them sympathy, even from Trumpers like myself. They will sue, and if a Democrat ever holds the WH again, they will be settle with, likely for millions.

We rightly complained about honest immigrants being punished for following the rules under Democrats. Let's not punish these confused folk for also following the rules.

There can't be that many of them, just give them an almost-full retirement and move on.
They should not get the full thing, maybe 80%.

If they were allowed to be in the military and were willing to sign up per the rules to risk their lives, in my opinion they should be awarded that which they have earned.

Once they were designated as transgender, they cannot be deployed. I think they should get standard severance pay.

Yep. I've disagreed on a couple of Trump's policies, but I'm down with everything else he is trying to accomplish. The only CULT is the deranged Trump Hater Cult (THC).

They signed up for the medical care. They don't risk their lives. Transgenders aren't deployable. They have to take medication daily and have to use a plastic form that has to be sterilized.

The body treats the artificial vagina as a wound. If left alone the wound will close. So, the trans has to wear a plastic form inside the fake vagina to keep it open.

How rough was the surgery? :abgg2q.jpg:

Agree with that as an argument to get rid of them.

But, if they've been in for 18 years, they did not sign up for the medial care.

Yes just for medical care.

I agree with Trump.

They worked for 18 years, surely an 80% retirement would be OK. How many could there possibly be, anyway?
And as for that "spreader" thing? :puke:
That's the nastiest thing I've heard since anal fissure.

they might be weirdo's but they did serve and should be compensated for it

I can't say I agree with this either

You do understand the necessity.

Stahhhhhp! I'll take "Things I never wanna think about again for $2000, Alex."
So the thing just stays an open wound forever? Maybe that's why 40% or so commit suicide.

15th post
They would get regular severance pay., like they offered many of us back in 1994 when Clinton cut us out of the budget because he eliminated the 600 ship Navy.
After 18 years? Ehh..feels Gramm-Rudmany to me.
That got overturned, too. I knew people that affected, badly.

I'd have to agree with you. I think this is a raw deal that Trump needs to rethink. While I agree that gays and transgenders really have no place in the military, these people served up to 18 years of their life, apparently did a respectable job, at a time when the rules permitted them to serve.

As such, I can understand wanting to purge them from the military, but keep your word, do it honorably, pay them the retirement they earned and are entitled to.

18 years ago, they entered into an agreement with the Air Force: do your duty and when you retire, you will collect x,y,z benefits.

Like it or not, these people help up their end of the contract and now Trump is breaching the contract and leaving them high and dry just because he personally does not approve of them.
