President Donald Trump announced the United States is prepared to accept up to 600,000 Chinese students as part of a trade deal his administration is trying to strike with China.

“We’re going to allow, it’s very important, 600,000 students,” Trump told reporters Monday at the White House. “We’re going to get along with China. But it’s a different relationship that we have now with China.”

IMHO there should be no Chi-Com nationals in the country, much less in our schools.

That's not America First and I'm honest enough with myself to say so.

There are, on average 1.1 million foreign students in the USA in any given year. Trump is giving more than half of those placements to a nation which wants to overtake the USA in GDP, trade and commerce.

A nation which is out to destroy American economic supremacy as quickly as possible, and to subjugate the USA both economically and politically. Hardly a wise move.

I'm waiting to see the details. My bet is that China is being played. As for the numbers, Thought this is interesting.

I agree. I don't like this news at all. We have plenty of outstanding American students completely capable and anxious to fill those spots.

There are 19000000 students at Grad level or above in the US; that's 18000000 locals. A few extra seats per lecture is probably doable. But true; US students should take precedence of course.
