OK....I didn't vote for this....Trump says US will accept 600,000 Chinese students as part of trade deal

The point you made, was dumb.

And clearly false as shown by the rusted out shell that is the Rust Belt.

The bean counters go with cheap labor, with little if ANY concern of quality.

They see, wrongly, all people as just... inputs into their systems. They are soulless assholes like that.

OUr nation, our systems, our rules, should not be made to work with or for asshole like that, but to serve AMERICANS, as a group and an individuals.
So you DON’T think Americans can compete? **** that ***** attitude.

We have a chance to turn these students against their home country, our enemy. It would be a brilliant tactic if employed correctly. They could be the conduit by which we gain an advantage over China.
Woke MOAB

The students will be infected by our degenerate academentia, bring that virus back to China, and destroy it worse than thermonuclear war would.

I am not blindly loyal to any politician so stop with your bloody false allegations.

His policies which he ran on generally made sense. The world expected him to confront China and deal with your illegally immigration crisis.

These are broadly popular policies not just for some MAGA cultists.
AGREE that immigration is the main reason for this administrations support.
But way to much silly un healthy stuff has been added to the mix.

On the lighter side, why not let as many Chinese as possible into our universities where they can become progressive woke neo-leftists that hate everything and want to tear the country apart. Then send them back to China. In less than a generation the Chinese will not even be able to define what a woman is and they will all be too preoccupied with their gender problems to keep China competitive. And I still think we should do a trade, for every Chinese student we accept, they have to accept one of our neo-leftists. They won't send any students, guaranteed.

So you DON’T think Americans can compete? **** that ***** attitude.

Not if the competiont is HOW LOW CAN YOU GO, on wages.

So....

yeah.

I ask again, Why should American resources not benefit Americans, primarily or first?

There are 280,000 Chinese students in the USA today... that number is down compared to three years ago when there were 300,000 Chinese students here... where the hell are the schools going to put 600,000 Chinese students???
This is insane...

No, we don't.
Oh, yes we do! Our top universities have huge percentages of equally qualified American students applying, many who get rejected as many of the spots are filled by foreign students. Those top universities have acceptance rates of around 5%, from a pool of applicants where probably at least 30% are equally qualified with near perfect and equal qualifications.

Today India tops China for students in the USA... at over 350,000....

What are they going to learn that can't be learned in Chinese schools? The Chinese are kicking ass in STEM in their own system. The only thing they don't have is the Humanities with an American twist. How valuable is that? So they can go back to China and call everyone a racist and a Nazi and tell them how stupid they are?

Trumpers have been against everything even a little related to China , until Trump does this

And then they fall in line
We Will No Longer Be the Chickenhawks' Nuggets

That's the Dead Right. You think it owns MAGA and that we are under their magic spell of its Cold War nostalgia. Working-class Whites were the ones expended in Vietnam, while the pro-war M-I C plutocracy pulled strings so that its pro-war gutless sons didn't have to fight. Those are the same warmongering traitors who create this opposition to Trump's desire to take advantage of the huge market that the energetic Chinese have created for us to profit from.

What I don't think a lot of people are aware of is that a lot of colleges are in financial struggles right now, attendance is way down in many smaller state schools from where it was years ago. There is more than enough opportunity for American students to attend, as well as any additional students brought in from abroad. So that's not really a reason to be against this initiative, there are plenty of other viable reasons however, including all the ones that have already been mentioned.
As far as smaller state schools, you might be right. But these foreign student are not needed in our nation's top tier universities, to fill unused spots. There are no unfilled spots in those universities!

American students of that exceptional caliber are fighting hard for those spots and getting rejected because of the large number of foreign students filling those spots. The American students are not getting rejected because they lack the talent and credentials.

We have far more extremely qualified American students that spots available at our elite universities. IMO, our students (of equal aptitude) should have priority when available spots are limited.

All this talk about deporting migrants and taking an Anti-China stance goes out the window if the OP is correct.

not really.

THe migrants are still being deported. And many more are self deporting. That is very much to the good.

The "reindustrialization" of America, or even moving shit to a NOT china place, will take some time.

This would be an ELEMENT of a deal, one that seems like a hit to US, and to the US working man, at least the ones that want BIG TECH JOBS,

but it is just a limited element and a wave of students that may or may not even happen, is not good, but not the whole... story.

And china, is still going to crash and burn. Even if they get a bunch of students here, china is still going to get fucked, sooner or later and probably sooner.
