No, the Left pushes these amendments, not the right.
The Left merely gauges which amendments have more than 50% voter support and pass them if it benefits them.
The Left will ram through the abortion amendment as they lie about it. Essentially, the wording is such that doctors and the patients will now decide which abortion is ethical, at least with Roe it was illegal to kill viable infants, but with the new amendment the doctor will determine what is best for the "health" of the mother.
The GOP should then come out with an amendment insisting on parental consent for minors to have abortions, which should pass, and come up with an amendment prohibiting ANY abortions of viable infants, but they won't.
Why do you think that is?
Abortion will be more abundant and unregulated than ever after Roe vs. Wade has fallen.
Crazy. Maybe it was the plan all along. After all, if a straight up vote about partial birth abortion was made, democrats would lose. But under cover of night they snuck it in anyway.
Are you saying that the left favours individual rights and the right of self-determination????
Abortion is not an "ethical matter". Abortion is, was and always shall be a medical matter between a woman and her doctor. You have right wing politicians saying things like "The woman made her decision when she agreed to spread her legs", and then voting against life saving treatments for miscarriages and the complications of childbirth.
The death rate from the complications of pregnancy and childbirth has doubled for American women in the past 20 years, as Republicans chipped away at reproductive health care options in red states. The USA now has the highest rate of mortality from pregnancy and childbirth in the first world. And it's skyrocketed in the wake of the Dobbs decision.
Currently, 30 American women in 100,000 are dying due to the complications of pregnancy and childbirth. In southern red states with abortion bans, that number is double the national rate, and that death rate doubled after Dobbs. Even worse, doctors say that most of these deaths are preventable. These numbers are from 2020 - before Roe was overturned.
Colombia has the highest rate of maternal mortality among OECD countries. The U.S. has a higher rate of maternal mortality compared to similar countries.

In Canada, we have 8.4 maternal deaths per 100,000 pregnancies/lives births, even though vast swaths of the nation have few doctors, even fewer hospitals, and many northern communities are only accessible by air. In Finland, the number is 3.5 deaths per 100,000.
Pro-Choice is the ONLY "pro-life" option. Campaign Life your name's a lie. You don't care if women die. As true today as it was when we first marched for abortion rights.
