The Pootster knows he fucked up. Not only has his military been exposed as shit, not only has he been exposed as a fool, not only has he wrecked his economy and put his own life in danger, but he has significantly strengthened (and perhaps even expanded) NATO.

And yet, this was never about NATO. This was never about Russian security. He wanted Ukraine's resources and access to the Black Sea, and he wanted things to be 1980 again.

I'm not going down this road (just so you can feel some small sense of vindication, where there is none) but we now know that prior to the imminent invasion of Iraq Saddam had
caravans of trucks taking all the WMDs out of Iraq. across the desert and storing them in Syria, mostly, for the duration of the war.

For those watching CNN a live video feed of the caravans was broadcast back into American homes, where
I witnessed it all just as I saw Jack Ruby shoot and kill Lee Harvey Oswald on live tv as my mother washed the dishes before church on Sunday in our tiny rental home.

I'm glad you find actual history "funny" Apparently anything that doesn't conform to your political

US and British aircraft were getting shot at every day trying to enforce a no-fly zone, and Clinton had sent hundreds of cruise missiles to take out "suspected chemical weapon sites" in Iraq.

It's as if that part of the story never happened, WMD's were just invented by republicans out of thin air. The reality is that Iraq's WMD's had received continuous coverage in the media for the last decade, and the public was completely primed to accept it as fact.

There were chemical weapons in Iraq in 2003, most were under seal. Not all though, some were moved to Syria, and came very close to being used by al Qaeda in Jordan.

We knew Iraq had WMD. Because we helped them develop their Chemical Weapons during the war with Iran between 1980 and 1988. We knew in 2002 that they had not been able to reconstitute their WMD programs after the Kuwait invasion became a UN Sanctions and WMD disposal operation. They did find some old ordinance from the Iran war and they were deadly poisonous and might could be used as terror weapons, but not usable weapons on a battle field.

Mrs. Clinton even voted to give GW the power to decide to invade or not.
