Official: Obama to Reverse Bush Abortion Regulation

President Obama wants to rescind a Bush administration rule that strengthened job protections for doctors and nurses who refuse for moral reasons to perform abortions.

A Health and Human Services official said Friday the administration will publish notice of its intentions early next week, opening a 30-day comment period for advocates, medical groups and the public. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the notice has not been completed.

The Bush administration instituted the rule in its last days, and it was quickly challenged in federal court by several states and medical organizations. As a candidate, Obama criticized the regulation and campaign aides promised that if elected, he would review it.

The fact is that if a doctor does not want to perform a certain type of procedure, they should not be forced to do so... just like I am in the electronics field, but if I do not wish to practice a service of delivering porn, I don't have to.. especially if I am in a partner in a practice or owning my own practice... now if the doctor is an ER doctor and a non-decision making person in the employ of a practice or hospital, they don't necessarily have to power to enforce or demand their stance as policy, but they have the right to refuse and go to another job... but in either case they certainly have every right to not do something that is against their beliefs

They are going to be leaving anyway when their income is redistributed and they are screwed on income taxes,deductions and medicare.
