Ocasio-Cortez floats 70 percent tax on rich to pay for 'Green New Deal'

Braindead commie Cortez seems to think people making over $600,000 a year should pay their "fair share", which is 70%. If she and her fellow commie leftists get their way, people would lose their homes and businesses because they wouldn't have enough money left to maintain their property.

She also wants to make it law that we are only using renewable energy in 12 years. Keep in mind, this has yet to be discovered/invented so I guess we would likely freeze to death and have no vehicles to drive to work because it would be illegal to use anything other than this yet-to-be-invented energy source.

Scary part is that she has supporters and even the leftist media treat her as if she should be taken seriously.

And when the rich decide to just retire because it's not worth working for a small percent of what they make, what will happen then? You guessed it, the money runs out. Then it's time for a real dictatorship, where they confiscate all the money in the banks and properties. If feds take 70% and states continue to take more, there won't be much left for the people who actually earned the money.

And, of course, no intent for government to cut spending. At least not their spending. The people will be forced to cut spending because they won't have any money to spend. Many wouldn't have enough to keep up the lifestyle they earned for themselves.

This is the new Dem party, folks. The extremists took over and the remaining ones are going along with this shit.

Add to that the fact that they want to eliminate electoral voting and we are headed straight for tyranny.

Trust me the grid is much more than wires and switch gear. Any of those installations that are completely isolated from the live grid will eventually wind down and need to obtain power from some type of conventional service to reboot it's called a Black start. I'm not criticizing the alternative forms of energy just noting that they cannot yet exist solely without the support of the conventional side.

Burlington is interesting

"Each day 1,800 tons of pine and timber slash, sustainably harvested within a 60-mile radius and ground into wood chips, is fed into the roaring furnaces of the McNeil Generating Station, pumping out nearly half of the city’s electricity needs.

Much of the rest of what Burlington’s 42,000 citizens need to keep the lights on comes from a combination of hydroelectric power drawn from a plant it built a half mile up Vermont's Winooski River, four wind turbines on nearby Georgia Mountain and a massive array of solar panels at the airport. Together these sources helped secure Burlington the distinction of being the country’s first city that draws 100 percent of its power from renewable sources."

America’s First All-Renewable-Energy City

Burlington population 42,000.

Co-Op City, Bronx, NY population 43,000

I'm not against renewable at all. I think that for 300,000,000 people, we need more nuclear

So the Los Angeles region with over 18 million people can be fully powered with renewable energy within a few years.

No.... Simple answer.
I am a power/systems engineer...
I run and supervise the electrical loads from power plants. The alternatives can help but they are often decietful as to their independence.

It worked fine when JFK cut the top rate from 90% to 70%. And kept CEO pay from going nuts like it has been the last 35 years. Not to worry, plenty of loopholes to save your greedy idiot Rich Heroes. I am fine with 70% over 10 million dollars. we need to invest in American infrastructure and the non-rich for a change.

If AOC and the Bernitard wing of the DNC commandeered the DNC and started actually passing their tax schemes into law and watch the rich donor class totally abandon the party. They'll get the votes from the oxygen thieves, but the media and the assholes who run the DNC make sure no real sacrifice is made on their part. If they lose control of the marxism monster they've created it's going to be one hell of a shit show.
