50/50

I know he got a $700 million dollar contract with the Dodgers but I never heard what the Angels got?
nothing that i know of....when he made his first appearance in Anaheim this year a reporter said he told him the angels never made an offer....they have bad management and the owner aint to popular either...,

Honestly, I get it for a somewhat smaller market team. The guy gets injured. Then you've got a field Full of replacement level players.

The GOAT #17 is amazing.

Dodgers will win the West. Only 10 or 11 games left in less than 2 weeks. They play a 3-game series at home against the Padres next week and still ahead by 3.5 games.
Remember that the Dbacks went to the World Series last year, and the Padres will fold like a cheap suitcase against this Dodgers team.

Arizona probably would too, but if they make it in and get rolling again they might surprise some teams. They know what it takes now to go deep. Same with the Phillies.

Maybe in a weird way they wanted to help Ohtani's career and not end up like Trout?

Easy, by oWAR.
the baseball reference guide was asked what is the best measure of how good a player is... they said their "experts" say its a combination of OPS and OPS+....which they said these numbers tell you how good a season they are having and the other tells you how they match up against the league and other players....thats what they go by anyway...

That of course is not fully true and is limited.

One guy has a higher OPS, but plays fewer games? Not as valuable, possibly.

That's why WAR exists.

BTW,.if you go by OPS, Ohtani is having Bonds's 14TH BEST season.

14.

Wow.

Bonds's CAREER OPS is 38 points higher than Ohtani's OPS this season. (1.051 vs 1.013)

you have to have a certain amount of games played and a certain amount of at bats to be on any top 10 lists....

Yes, 3.1 PAs per scheduled game.

156 games so far = 483 PAs

21 hitters have over 650 already.

That's amost 40% more.

Rate stats have their limitations. Thus, WAR.
