Succinct article in the Post today.

Well said - the Democrats' attacks on the top 2-3% will inevitably result in hundreds of thousands of lost jobs - perhaps more. Tax revenues will then decline, and the recession will persist far longer than if a more incentive based stimulus package had been passed. Not only is Obama raising the top rate back to nearly 40%, but by eliminating long-standing deductions for this group, as well as raising the Social Security tax rates, the combined changes are nearing an overall total of 50% in increased taxes. This far surpasses the tax rates of the Clinton era.

The Leftists are over-reaching - big time, and the middle class will inevitably suffer for it.

Remember your precious Trickle Down Theory was once called the Horse and the Sparrow theory.

Your side doesn't change. Kiss up to the rich and thank them for everything.

Forget the middle class that makes this nation run. The middle class are the engine of the economy, the rich are just the fucking whistle.

There will always be those who fall for this crap from the aristrocracy.:cuckoo:

Your use of profanity reduces not only your arguement but your character.

Please refrain from doing so and I will be happy to consider your views.

So with that being said, please explain how Obamanomics are helping this nation's middle class, both in the short and long term.

Thank you!

poor sods...thinking taxing the uber rich is bad...lol...don't even realize you've been brain washed.

"his theory claims that governments have three ways in which they control people: decision-making power, non decision-making power and ideological power. Decision-making power is the most public of the three faces and is the manner in which governments want to be seen: the power of governments to make policy decisions after widespread consultation with opposition parties and the wider public. Non decision-making power is the power that governments have to control the agenda in debates and make certain issues (such as the possible merits of Communism in the United States) unacceptable for discussion in moderate public forums. the third and most important face of power is ideological power, which is the power to influence people's wishes and thoughts and make them want things opposed to what would benefit them," such as worker's supporting a universal health care or taxing the rich.

Who wrote the above quote? Might be nice to know as a point of reference...

Your use of profanity reduces not only your arguement but your character.

No it doesn't. That's your opinion. Profanity is defined by each individual, not by one for all of US.

Hell, 99% of your side couldn't be listened to then. Right, Ali?

Let's see what happens as the stimulus is put into place.

Tax cuts alone are sure not the answer. Giving tax breaks to rich hasn't worked either. The concept of the rich spending enough so that their bounty trickles down to US is obscene.

If the 80% of the middle class is working and buying, the economy will be sound. They are the engine. The rich are the whistle. That's not class war fare. That's not hating the rich. That's the facts jack.

The horse and the sparrow: If the horse eats enough oats, the sparrow may find some in the manure that he can eat. I thought we got rid of the aristocracy in this country.

"Republicans seem to think there is an inspiring quality in giving more money to the top one percent. When I hear this, I think of the `Horse and Sparrow' theory of economics that if you feed enough oats to the horse, some will pass through to feed the sparrows." -John Kenneth Galbraith

Same old ideas that didn't work before. Give it a new name.

The economist John Kenneth Galbraith noted that "trickle-down economics" had been tried before in the United States in the 1890s under the name "horse and sparrow theory". He wrote, "Mr. David Stockman has said that supply-side economics was merely a cover for the trickle-down approach to economic policy—what an older and less elegant generation called the horse-and-sparrow theory: "If you feed the horse enough oats, some will pass through to the road for the sparrows." Galbraith claimed that the horse and sparrow theory was partly to blame for the Panic of 1896.[17] Proponents of Keynesian economics and related theories often criticize tax cuts for being "trickle down"; however, Keynesian theory actually holds that tax cuts can be used as an economic stimulus. Keynesians generally argue for broad fiscal policies that are direct across the entire economy, not toward one specific group. Supply-siders, on the other hand, argue that tax cuts for the rich promotes investment, which in turn promotes growth.

While your response lacked an actual response to the question posed, you were kind enough to not engage in the tired use of profanity and for that I thank you.

Could you please try and explain what in the stimulus plan will help the middle class - both in the short and long term? If that is too broad a topic, perhaps explain how the stimulus bill will directly benefit middle class job creation in the private sector?

Once again, thank you.

rayboy would have been perfect in the age of the French Revolution. He would have gleefully manned the guillotine! Instead of making it on his own he sits around hating people who had the balls to make it.

Why do lefties equate the freedom to prosper with "kissing up to the rich"?

Don't you get that what you want is not about liberating anyone, it's about holding everybody down?

You honestly believe that if one person is miserable, then all must be equally miserable.

What fun kids you must have been.

Exactly.

The politics of class envy are so destructive to the future potential of all of us.

The freedom to work hard and succeed is the element that has brought people all over the world to this country, and that foundational aspect of Americanism is being attacked to a greater degree today than at any time I can recall in my own 38-year lifetime.

It concerns me greatly.

Especially given the news in another thread that Obama is cutting funding to charter schools.

He wants the poor people to stay exactly where they are. Get rid of tax reforms, get rid of education reforms, no equal education for rich and poor...

They don't. That's your interpretation.

Plus it has nothing to do with the trickle down theory.

Why do righties believe that the middle class doesn't count?

Missed that one.

No. Another of your sound bites.

PS. I am not miserable. Actually quite happy with my life at home and work. Do you always project so much?:eusa_whistle:
