How come the press rarely reports on Afghan casualties? During Iraq there were comic strips devoted to US casualties (OK, one strip, Doonesbury, which actually used to be funny a long time ago).
Yet Obama declared the Afghan War the just one, the one worth fighting, and committed a big bunch of troops and resources to winning.
So how's that working out?
The Taliban are kicking ass and taking names. Karzai is putting his foot down, no doubt looking for baksheesh, and the US is trying to go around him. Unsuccessfully.
Another failed policy initiative from the Failer in Chief.

The press is the securely attached dominant arm of the DNC, neither independent, nor unbiased.
When Comrade Barack or Debbie Thunderthighs says "Jump!" "Pinch" Sulzberger and his staff over at the NYT as well as the folks at the WaPo obeissantly inquire "How high?"

The flow of news, since January 20th, 2009 has been directly out of the White House Office Of Disinformation straight into David Brock's mediamatters website headquarters where the George Soros funded staff thoroughly peruses the latest White House blurbs, PR puff pieces, and various talking points and fine tunes the White House messages before disseminating them out to the general media, the NYT, the WaPo, ABC, CBS, CNN, and NBC.
When Lara Logan aired her faulty Benghazi report a few weekends ago, David Brock at mediamamtters was hard at work immediately penning a letter to the head of CBS News 60 seconds after the broadcast closed demanding a complete retraction and suspension of the reporters and writers involved to which CBS rapidly acquiesced. Of course, the fact that Obama Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes, MFA in fictional literature writing from NYU, "The Deaths of the American Ambassador to Libya and three other Americans in Benghazi was all the result of a spontaneous demonstration over some hideous anti Muslim internet video", is the brother of the head of CBS News had to help in hastening Ms Logans departure from CBS News.
If you're getting the impression that Obama and the media are joined at the hip, or penis to anus at worst, you're right.
The old Propagandameister, Joseph Goebbels, never had it so good.

The press has given Obama a pass in Afghanistan like nothing they would ever do for Bush.

Every policy in Afghanistan--no matter who's policy it is--will be a failed policy. Bush got us into a horrible quagmire in the Middle East, all to satisfy the needs of his business partners in Saudi Arabia.

Let's see. Bush unseated the Taliban with minimal American losses. So fail on that one.
The "horrible quagmire" (the left just loves that word) resulted in enforcing UN sanctions, a democratic Iraq with free elections for the first time n 50 years,a disarmed Libya, and a safer America.
Obama's policies have resulted in a failed Afghan venture, an unstable Iraq, a nuclear Iran, and an America that is less safe now than 3 years ago.

Bit unrelated, but still interesting.

Libya just declared Sharia as main source of legislation. Was that Barry's goal in Libya?

Which foreign policy through the last 150 years has succeeded by foreign military presence in Afghanistan?

Why is Fox nudes not reporting on Afghanistan casualties? In the local papers the casualty notices are printed.

Obama's M.E. policies are all about resolving what Bush left in his wake. If you absolve Bush of this shit, you're just a partisan hack.

Bush's policy in 2001 to destablize and replace the Taliban. Only one.

Bush failed. He had no "end game." The Taliban never went away. It's still there. Bush's actions served to energize anti-American sentiment throughout the Muslim world. Bush's actions sent us deeply into debt, killed thousands of young Americans and 100's of thousands of brown people, and we're still paying the price.

Hmm, so the Arab Spring is Bush's fault?
Sure, run with that.

And Obama's surge was a success? What was his end game?
There was less anti-americanism when Bush left office than now.

Sure, run with that.

The Arab Spring is the fault of the leaders in the ME being worthless killers and brutes, not to mention that radical Islamic forces are determined to regain control of the govt. to create a theocracy.

And that's Bush's fault, how?

The problem is the Taliban never attacked us, nor did they do anything to interfer with our global economy beyond not letting Bushi's fixer Jim Baker build a pipeline. They gave succor to bin laden, and yes BushI should have dropped not just the full might of the fleet on Tora Bora, but should have sent in the Delta Force and as much of the 82nd as could muster.

But any notion that we'd nation build in Afghan is a pipedream (pun intended.) I believe Biden advised Obama to use only special forces and drones in targeted killing of those targeting the US, but Hillary's group won out, partly on the notion that we needed to save the girls.

Obama ran on the Afghan war being the good war, yet liberals pretend only Bush owns it. The type of move I've come to expect from them.

Obama's complete incompetence has led to this disaster. Men killed for basically nothing, as Obama is turning tail and running as fast as he can. The surge was a waste, a complete failure. And I would bet Stanley McChrystal knew this was coming and this is why he mouthed off and got himself relieved.
