Newt said this morning he's willing to debate Obama at any rig, any gas-station, or anywhere about how to lower gas prices.

He says Obama doesn't even want to try to lower prices and he says he's offended by the fact that Obama is calling him a liar.

Obama will never have the guts to debate him.

Why would he debate Newt? Newt is old news, a loser.

Newt should keep it up and demand a debate with Obama. Keep up the pressure. If Obama refuses, he looks weak and fearful of Gingrich. It's the perfect strategy.

– The five oil giants benefited from $200 million more profit for every penny rise in quarterly gas prices. Yet the industry still benefits from $40 billion in subsidies.

Saw a guy on TV this morning, one of those financial shows.
He suggested that if Obama stepped up and simply said "hey- we used to produce 10 million barrels per day in this country, now we're down to around 6 mill/day. We're making it our goal to get back up to that 10 mill/day". He stated that this would make traders stand up and listen and think twice about bidding up oil prices.

It's disturbingly odd that Obama has never given credit to the oil and gas industries for their achievements, their risk-taking, their ingenuity, or their successes. It's all about him-him-him.

Give credit where credit is due. Give industry the proper regulatory and legislative environments within which to operate effectively. If Obama can't do that then he should just get the **** out of the way.

Drilling on federally controlled lands and waters has DROPPED by 49% while production on private and state lands has risen over 68%. There have been NO new permits issued for federal lands by this administration.

That NONSENSE about production being the highest since 1940s...BULL SHIT!

See, is a perfect example of liars figure and figures lie. Have a look at the ACTUAL data and you'll notice something. Oil production was on a steady climb in this country until it's peak in the 1970's.

Let's see, what happened in the 70s? Oh yeah, OPEC embargo and Jimmy Carter...ANOTHER flaming liberal who campaigned on the slogan of Time for Change. He just left off the hope part.

Oh, and by the way. He is ALSO the genius that started a program know as The Community Reinvestment Act which led DIRECTLY to the current Fannie/Freddie crash. But that is a whole nother liberal boondoggle.

Here is what he had to do with the current gas prices and the current incarnation of Jimmy Carter...Barak Obama. Ever hear of something called the Windfall Profit Tax? Sound familiar? Well, if you lived through the age of Jimmy Carter...you DO remember gas going from 68 cents a gallon when Carter took office to 1.78 in less than 4 years. Does that more than doubling of price sound familiar?

Here is a FACT or two for ya. Oil companies make 3.62 cents on every dollar of oil product they sale. The folks that make the computer or electronics you are reading this on make about 6.8 cents on the dollar. And neither one of those is even CLOSE to the high end earners who get 12 and 15 cents profit on the dollar.

On the other hand, the FEDERAL government gets 19 cents right off the top of EVERY GALLON of gas you pump into your car. And it doesn't matter if that gas is 1.70 or 7 dollars. The Federal Government makes more on a gallon of gas the the guys who MAKE the shit! But that is only a fraction of the cost that is added to gas by the government.

I read somewhere above that some jackass thinks refining capacity is just fine. That they are setting idle. More BULL SHIT!

Oil refineries have been running at 110% of capacity for nearly 30 years. That is a fact. And that is a direct result of government regulation which has regulated small refineries OUT and forced producers to produce over 30 different boutique blends that add nearly 1 dollar to the price of every gallon of gas you buy AND are the reason they run at 110% of capacity in order to make up production lost during changeovers. Of the over 1200 applications for new refineries submitted over the last 10 years...ONE has been approved. And it was a simple expansion of a current facility!

Then there is the INSANITY of the E requirements. That's E as in ethanol that not only adds 10 cents to the price of every gallon of gas...but DECREASES FUEL EFFICIENCY!!!

By the way, ethanol is the ONLY subsidy even related to big oil. The fed subsidizes the ethanol production facilities like the one aboiut 20 miles from me that oil companies MUST buy their ethanol from.

So the government is FORCING up the price of gas and FORCING us to drive LESS fuel efficient cars...USING TAX DOLLARS to subsidize the burning of FOOD for fuel...by requiring corn ethanol in our fuel, WHICH in turn not only drives up the cost of transportation AND production for goods and services that depend on petroleum, but the price of everything that depends on corn...like nearly every damn thing in the grocery store!

And not just chicken and beef. Just read the label on anything in your pantry. Corn syrup, corn fructose, corn sucrose, corn starch and on and on and on.

But you know what? BOTH of those things could be fixed with a simple phone call from the White House to the EPA or even one of those executive orders Caesar is so fond of issuing. Simply directing the EPA to suspend the requirements for ethanol AND boutique blends and the price of gas would drop by half over night.

THAT is a FACT...and anyone who says it wouldn't is the REAL liar!

Oh, and have you ever heard of the Strategic Oil Reserve? Ordinarily...and unless your name is Jimmy Carter or Obama, when the price of crude has spiked, the government either suspended purchases to the reserve OR released reserves. Carter used it to create an artificial shortage and drive up gas prices by using tax dollars to compete with Americans for supplies to drive people toward econo box cars.

Obama has taken a page out of the Carter play book to do the same thing to drive up gas prices to try and drive people toward alternative energies that DON'T WORK!

There are some lies being told...but they are coming out of Washington...NOT off the campaign trail!
